Lovely gite in a quiet location on the doorstep of Avignon
This property was perfect for us. We traveled as a family of 4 with 2 teenage children and a dog. The gite was small but perfectly formed, we loved having dinner under the shady vine outside and sharing the wider outdoor space with chickens and ducks. The property is secure and secluded with a remote control gate. The owner, Andre was friendly and helpful, saying we could help ourselves to all the produce he grows, and leaving us fresh eggs from the chickens. He lives about 15 minutes away and popped down to the grounds most days, but we didn't know he was there as the gite is fully enclosed. The pool is quite small, but was lovely for a dip on the many hot days we had. Temperatures were in the mid 30s for most of our time. The only small downside is there is nowhere in walking distance to eat or go for a drink. Les Angles old town is pretty but with nothing in it, and the new town rather soulless. Villeneuve sur Avignon is close and is much more characterful with great restaurants. Including the Michelin star Le Prieure which does a very reasonable lunch.
If you want a quiet retreat in the heart of the South of France this will be perfect for you. The property was of a high standard and we would definitely stay again.
