Casa dos Ciprestes is a stylish, traditional Portuguese home in the centre of a friendly village, close to a beautiful saltwater Obidos lagoon and beaches.
Four double-bedroomed, split-level house with two bathrooms, marble-floored open lounge / dining area and separate kitchen.
Fully furnished and includes unlimited wifi broadband.
The house sits in a large plot with gardens around.
The property has is a long driveway with plenty of parking, for up to about 6 cars.
There is also a large tiled outside rear area surrounding the large pool, which is very secluded and not overlooked, and is a fabulous sun trap to improve your tan.

Spacious villa with a great pool

Lots of room for 6. Split levels break up living/ sleeping. There’s a SMART TV for Netflix/Prime. Wi-fi good. As the first rental of the year we some issues but Bo and David who live nearby fixed them as they arose and had a nice card and bottle of wine on arrival and a good guide and website for info. Nice new BBQ. The pool The property’s biggest asset and is big and deep enough to offer lots of fun or even to swim lengths. Heating is a big plus and the outside shower is a bonus too. The walls around the pool are designed with the local wind in mind and create a nice sun trap wind shadow. It is very private also. The area Nadadouro. This is a working village/town with life going on in the background. You won’t be rubbing shoulders with other holiday makers. The school is adjacent and kids play in the yard and there are pitches nearby where a football tournament was enthusiastically supported on our middle Saturday and Sunday. Another review complained about this noise but it didn’t bother us at all. The village could do with a mini market as I felt I was always driving to Caldas supermarkets (10 minutes and easy to find). The darts café is a cheap local place for a drink and change of scenery. Foz Do Arelho Amazing beach. The beautiful lagoon is safe place to swim. The Escola da Vela has lots of watersports. The ocean side was rarely open for swimming as there are currents. We liked breakfast at Al Norte as it is actually on the beach and offers great views of the waves rolling in. Sunset photo op at the top of the hill. Trips Nazare –30 minutes. No 100 foot waves that day! Advise parking for free near South Beach, get the funicular up the hill and eat either up there or back down in Nazare for a swim. Freeport – 75 minutes away and bonus of travelling over the Vasco de Gama bridge. Nice place, lots of shops, some bargains and not too expensive to eat. Obidos – 15 minutes away. Remarkable castle/town with free access. Walk around the entire wall and then the town and take lots of photos. Sintra – 60 minutes away. We just did the Parque/Palacio Nacional de Pena family ticket of €49 covered all 6. Would need early start to do more and if you have visited Obidos do you really need another castle. Fatima – about 50 minute away by motorway. Found a cool place to eat called Pregaria da Iria beside the Aldi which made shopping convenient. Baleal Beach – 35 minutes away. Great place to swim or surf lessons.

Lovely area and villa

We had a fab two weeks on the Silver Coast. Villa catered for all our needs and Bo and her husband were amazing and always on hand with any queries!

Lovely house in a typical village

Nous avons passé 2 semaines formidables dans cette maison typique très bien située (proche de la mer, de la sauvage lagune d'Obidos) La maison, sans être luxueuse, est très agréable, au calme, avec une vraie belle piscine et une bonne literie. Bo et son mari ont été supers accueillants et à l'écoute, nous y retournerons certainement !

CASA EN MUY BUENA ZONA PERO POCO CUIDADA

La casa está en una zona preciosa pero necesitaría arreglos. La cocina es muy vieja y el menaje es muy poco y además viejo y sucio. Había muebles con cajones rotos y olía a humedad. La entrada a la casa para los coches tiene una chapa levantada y se corre peligro de rajar las ruedas. El propietario nos escribió para decirnos que si queríamos que el agua de la piscina estuviera climatizada tendríamos que pagarle 10 euros por día que tendríamos que dejar en metálico en la casa. Se le dijo que si y la piscina no paso de los 20 grados. Le avisamos, y nos dijo que había ido a verlo y estaba la calefacción puesta, pero el agua seguía fría. En resumen es una casa que con el cuidado adecuado sería perfecta pero necesita una renovación.

Hi, I'm Steve and I live in the beautiful county of Cornwall in the UK. I bought the house in Portugal some years ago, as I love to spend time there. I plan to retire in Portugal once my children have grown and flown the nest.

Why they chose this property

The house is in the middle of Nadadouro and close to the infant school, it has a great feel of connection to its locale. It is a traditional village home which has the advantage of a large plot of land with a long sweeping driveway. I have developed this house over a number of years converting it into a stylish, modern home. There are pleasant outside areas including a large swimming pool, which is extremely private and a proven sun trap.

What makes this property unique

Close to village amenities, including local bars and restaurants. It is a split-level house, with only four steps up to the bedrooms and two bathrooms, perfect for younger children or more senior guests.
