About the property

Croftness Cottage (2 bedroom, sleeps 4), Croftness Bothy (1 bedroom, sleeps 2)

The perfect location for a memorable trip to Highland Perthshire. Beautifully situated on a hillside above the attractive town of Aberfeldy, these lovingly upgraded cottages enjoy panoramic views over the historic Birks of Aberfeldy and the Tay Valley and offer the perfect balance between 'being away from it all' while still being able to walk into Aberfeldy. All cottages are finished to a high standard so you can enjoy being in a traditional cottage that has everything you need for a relaxing holiday.

If an active holiday is your thing we are located perfectly for all outdoor activities. We can run tailor made days for you in the hills or on the water through our sister business Ocean Alba. Just contact us directly and we would be happy to help create your adventure!

If you prefer to keep it more indoors don't fret! Croftness is the ideal place to hunker down with the fire on and enjoy the outdoors from behind a window! Aberfeldy is a short walk and an even shorter drive and has excellent shops, pubs, restaurants and visitor attractions. A lovely country club is within 1/2 a mile and offers quality food and drink. Pitlochry, home to the renowned Festival Theatre, is 15 miles away and Perth is 30 miles away.

Enjoy a scenic drive? Who doesn't!! There are endless day trips into stunning highland glens and over mountain roads (if the weather permits!) If you need any inspiration we would be happy to help!

About Laura Easson

Scotland's great outdoors has been a passion of mine since leaving school. I worked as an outdoor guide all over Scotland and settled in Aberfeldy in 2011. After many years travelling all over the country I now get to spend more time at home in Aberfeldy running the self catering business. If I'm not working you'll either find me, in the mountains, on my mountain bike, in a sea kayak or spending time with the horses.

Laura Easson purchased this cottage in 2016

Why Laura Easson chose Aberfeldy

The Cottages are part of the old farm steading at Croftness and has been tastefully upgraded so that it still holds it's traditional charm. You will get the perfect balance between staying in a beautiful old building that is modern and comfortable.

What makes this cottage unique

Croftness is an incredibly special place. The old farm steading is nestled perfectly beside the giant trees of the Birks and has stunning views over the mountains. You will not find a more ideal location that is only a ten minute walk to town. We couldn't think of a more a peaceful place to live and to share with others.

Wonderful Location

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here 6 nights to explore the Scottish Highlands. The cottage was wonderful and the view from the back patio was beautiful. Never met or saw the owners but they were right there if we needed anything. Cottage was comfortable, clean, and the bathroom was wonderful. Large shower, no tub, with great water pressure and lots of hot water. There is a washing machine, which we made good use of, but no dryer. There is a drying rack in the downstairs half bath that you can use for drying. We would happily stay here again!

Lovely little cottage, a home from home

  • 5 of 5

What a lovely 3 night stay we just had! We felt at home the second we walked through the door! Beautifully furnished with comfy furniture, Smart TV and lots of books and dvds to unwind to. An open fire (with guard) which is supplied with endless wood to burn kept us warm from morning until night. Well equipped kitchen with a large dining table. The bed was so comfortable I feel asleep as soon as my head touched the pillow!

The location was fantastic - less than 10 mins to walk into aberfeldy which as a small town gives you everything you need, even has a small cinema! There was loads of lovely shops and deli's, restaurants and pubs also a petrol station and co-op. You're only a few miles drive away from other nice towns too like Pitlochry, Dunkeld, Crieff, etc etc.

Can't rate this place enough, we've already recommended it to all of our friends.

Delightful, cosy and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was beautiful, nicely furnished and very well equipped. The underfloor heating in the kitchen was a nice surprise. Everything was spotless. There was a great selection of books and DVDs. It was very cosy and well heated. Off the beaten track so was nice and peaceful. Already planning to come back and would definitely recommend.
