Overview

About the property

4 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom period cottage in the North Cotswolds

A period 4 bedroom cottage sleeping 7, with some lovely features both modern and old. Set on 3 levels this cottage makes the ideal place to come and explore the North Cotswolds from as a family or a group of friends. 1 Kingsize bedroom, 1 double bedroom, 1 twin room ( 2 singles ) and a single room with an extra pull out bed suitable for children. Period features such as the inglenook fireplace and old bread oven door, as well as modern bathrooms with walk in shower and exposed beams make this the perfect place for a countryside break.

Long Compton lies at the northern edge of the Cotswold escarpment in South Warwickshire. It nestles in the valley of a tributary to the river Stour. As its name suggests, it is linear in form, stretching for almost a mile along the main road with spurs of development, principally on one side. Long Compton is known for its pretty thatched cottages, warm Cotswold stone walls, ancient church with an unusual lychgate, and above all for its glorious countryside. It is within the boundary of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Beauty and much of the village is protected by conservation area status.

The Village is well situated to visit local towns of historic and special interest such as Chipping Norton, Moreton-in-Marsh, Shipston-on-Stour, Startford-upon-Avon & Stow-on-the-Wold, and also to enjoy walks in the beautiful countrysideincluding the Macmillan Way, and Shakespeare Way.

Long Compton remains essentially a farming community. The countryside and landscapes are highly valued by all who are lucky enough to live here.

Beautiful Cottage in a lovely location

  • 5 of 5

We were a family group with children aged 4 and 7 The cottage was very comfortable and cosy, well furnished and well equipped with lots of games and dvds for when the weather was inclement. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very spacious and clean. The village has a handy general store and a friendly pub. The location is excellent near to Stratford upon Avon and the Cotswolds and I would definitely stay here again

Good mix of character and contemporary makeover giving a great place to stay.

  • 5 of 5

A good mix of period character and beams along with a contemporary make over which creates a lovely place to stay. Convenient location to get to a whole range of places to visit. Red Lion is a must for a meal and just a short walk away. We had a good time and the house was a good place to relax. Thank you
