Overview

About the property

Set in the High Weald area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Oak Valley is surrounded by woodlands, meadows and beaches and provides a perfect base for nature lovers.

Although it’s in a secluded spot, Oak Valley Camping is close to some of the best bits of Sussex including its coast and seaside towns. The medieval Cinque Port of Rye, with yachts at harbour, Castle Museum, nature reserves and Rye Harbour SSSI, is within a short drive. While there be sure to visit Mermaid Street, voted Englands prettiest street 2015!

Also speed along to old Hastings, 15 minutes away, for its Old Town and fishing quarters, beach and arcades, Priory Meadow shopping centre, two cliff railways and the Hastings Fisherman's Museum at Rock-a-Nore.

Just outside town, A Smugglers Adventure at St Clements Caves covers the smuggling history of this part of coast, as well as the caves’ setting as a hiding and refuge place throughout the ages and during World War II.

There’ll likely be a festival around whichever time of the year you’ve visiting: a few options throughout the East Sussex year are the Hastings Wine and Seafood Festival, Rye Bay Scallop Week, Pirate Day, May Day and the Hastings Old Town Carnival Week along with loads of other smaller events.

We also recommend a wander around Winchelsea, just 5 minutes away, the town with boat and jetski launch, ancient history and a small museum.

Fancy a day at the beach?? The closest beach is just 5 minutes away or you can take a 20 minute drive to the beautiful sandy dunes of Camber.

Our Lodges are the perfect place for a romantic getaway, in quiet, peaceful surroundings and with local pubs within walking distance serving great food! Or a fun break with the kids, with a play area on site, woodlands to adventure through and beaches close by.

After a day out why not hire 1 of our fire pits and relax outside under the starry nights sky with a glass of wine or a hot chocolate & marshmallows! (all available on site!)

Our lodges come with a fully equipt kitchen including full size oven & hob but if you fancy something different you could always hire 1 of our full size BBQs to use in your decked garden area with seating, table & lighting!

Inside our lodges we have 2 bedrooms, 1 with a double bed, wardrobe, bedside table, lamp and candle lighting and the other with bunk beds and a wardrobe. The bathroom has a full size bath with an overhead shower and towel radiator. In the living area you will find a very comfortable corner setee, flat screen tv with a DVD player a freeview plus 2 lamps to make it that extra bit cosy even on a winter night when you can make full use of the central heating!

The kitchen is fully equipt with a dining table and chairs, fridge, washing machine, full size oven & hob, kettle, toaster and all cups, plates, utencils etc you will need.

Our Loges sleep upto 5 people, with a maximum of 4 adults or 2 adults, 2 children and 1 infant under 3 (travel cot and highchair can be provided if requested)

All bed linen is provided at Oak Valley but please bring your own towels.

We look forward to seeing you!!
