About the property

Maen Llwyd is a contemporary and luxurious cottage, with its own private driveway and a fully enclosed spacious garden. The cottage has a light and airy environment with plenty of space for families or groups of friends.

It comfortably sleeps 8 people in its four double bedrooms, two of which can be twins if required. The sleek and contemporary kitchen/dining room is the perfect place for sociable cooking and eating. The triple aspect living room has been comfortably arranged around an imposing fireplace with wood burner.

It is ideal for exploring the Wye and Elan Valleys with its cosy wood burner to return to after a day enjoying the delights of the area.

A one minute walk from the house will take you to a lovely, friendly village pub with a contemporary restaurant using locally sourced produce. When you feel the need for exercise there’s a cycle path on your doorstep, plenty of walking routes and a village park to enjoy.

This is the ideal central location from which to explore a variety of visitor attractions and places of interest. Llanyre village lies in the Upper Wye Valley, 1½ miles to the west of the town of Llandrindod Wells.

Beautiful house, great location, we couldn't have asked for more!

We rented Maen Llwyd for a big family Christmas after the arrival of our first child. There was plenty of room for all 8+1 of us. The house is beautiful and has been finished to a very high standard, with a spatious kitchen and living room. Maen Llwyd is in an excellent location, with a local pub a stone's throw away and Llandrindod a short distance further on. We really couldn't have asked for more. Thank you for a wonderful Christmas!

great trip highly recommended

Met with old friends and young children for a three night stay, couldn't fault the property large and spacious plenty of room both inside and out for the kids, very well kitted out with all mod cons, owners where very helpful and accommodating, (they left a pumpkin and carving kit for us as it was Halloween and even alllowed us to set a few fireworks of one night).

Local town has Aldi & Tesco 5 mins for any bits you might need.

All in all wonderful stay in nice surroundings.

Great, comfortable, modern, spacious property

I recently stayed at Maen LLwyd along with my 6 other family members. The house is located in wonderful countryside, and has been furnished to high standards. The large kitchen-dining space, and the sitting rooms were both just perfect for having a nice time together. The bedrooms/batthrooms were comfortable and good sized too.

Huw and Zoe have an eye for detail, and contacted me with detailed instructions as soon as I booked the property. They did their best to make our stay as comfortable as possible.

Perfect birthday get together

Beautiful and immaculate cottage with everything we needed-8 of us enjoyed a lovely time in the cottage to celebrate my mums 80th birthday. We were not able to sit outside and enjoy the views as the rain was never far away but it didn't matter. The large kitchen/diner was perfect for us all to spend time together and had everything we needed. Thank you!

Immaculate large comfortable house.

We had a wonderful week staying at Maen Llwyd. There were 6 adults and 4 children in our group and the house was very comfortable for us. All of the rooms are very spacious, beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. Huw and Zoe had added some lovely touches like a welcome basket and ideas of things to do on the blackboard. It was also great knowing they were nearby if we needed anything. The kitchen is really well equipped, we cooked meals at the house almost everyday and there wasn't anything missing which we needed. There are beautiful views from the house and the children loved seeing the sheep in the next fields. There is plenty to do in this area, some within walking / cycling distance, others a short drive away. We would highly recommend this house and would certainly return in the future.

Beautiful holiday home, inside and out.

We stayed for a BH weekend. The house is perfect with everything you could need and very comfortable.

Lovely surrounding countryside. Huw and Zoe were very helpful and quick at getting back to us replying to a couple of questions we had.

One of the boys left his beloved soft toy dog behind and this was promptly put in the post, much appreciated by him and us. Thank you!

Should you want a relaxing week away, a place to focus or a base to explore, there's plenty to see and do in the area.

The Elan Valley is a short car journey away, with its impressive dams, dark skies status and natural beauty. The spa town of Llandrindod Wells nestles just next to Llanyre. Llandrindod's heritage is that of a centre for health where Victorians travelled to take the waters - visitors are still able to do this today.

There are national trails to be walked, circular routes to be wandered, bridal ways and cycle paths to be ridden and caves and skies to be explored. If adventure is not what you're after, just down the road there are spa facilities for those wanting to really treat themselves during their time away.
