About Andrea Bryson

I grew up in a village to the North of Newcastle and moved to Prudhoe with my husband around 14 years ago. Having worked as an accountant for a number of years, I decided to leave work and go to university where I graduated with a Biology Degree. After university, I worked with a large pharmaceutical company for a few years then made the decision to leave and start up a holiday let business in Warkworth.

Andrea Bryson purchased this cottage in 2016

Why Andrea Bryson chose Warkworth

Having spent a long weekend in Warkworth village, we fell in love with the village and surrounding area and the local people are so friendly and accommodating. We bought a second home in Warkworth, with the intention of running a holiday let business. We then decided we wanted to make the place our home. We have now settled into our new home and bought the Field View properties to run as holiday let accommodation.

What makes this cottage unique

The Northfield Farm properties were originally a farm and stone outbuildings that were renovated for use as furnished holiday lets. The properties are located 300 yards from Killiecrankie beach and have fantastic views of the sea and Alnmouth village. They are surrounded by arable land giving a changeable landscape throughout the year as well as providing a sanctuary for birds and wildlife to thrive.

Fabulous cottage in a great location

  • 5 of 5

We had a long weekend with our dog at this fantastic cottage that is finished to an exceptional standard. The location is first class within a few minutes walk of a great beach, from which you can also walk to Warkworth and Alnmouth. We would highly recommend this to anyone visiting this beautiful area.

Perfect in every way - location, quality of accomodation and attention to detail. Deffinately 5 star

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at 2 Field View, the location was perfect - ideally located for exploring the area and having such a wonderful beach right on the door step is a real bonus. The cottage is situated on the local cycle track and biking all around the area is really excellent. The cottage has been very tastefully decorated and is equipped to a very high standard with everything you need and the welcome pack was a very nice touch. Just sitting in the cottage or garden looking at the local views and seeing so much wildlife was a real pleasure - the Deer are lovely to watch. Would recommend this property 100% and the local Seafood is some of the best we have eaten and all caught locally. Great place and five star. Thanks Adrian and Karen and Whippets.

A cosy holiday home, offered by a very thoughtful and considerate owner...

  • 5 of 5

My partner Jonathan and me - and our Welsh Terrier 'Thomas' had such a great stay at 2 Field View! We arrived at this clean, tidy and cosy property, where a generous and thoughtful 'welcome pack' was left for us, including just the kind of things you need as soon as you arrive at your holiday home... Things such as milk, bread, butter, coffee, tea, two lovely bottles of wine and more! This welcome pack was not only kind and thoughtful, it meant that we did not have to go out to buy groceries as soon as we arrived. It was the first sign of the owner - Andrea Bryson's, outstanding thoughtfulness and attention to detail.

The main living area and kitchen were great with a well equipped kitchen and dining area (with a dining table table and chairs). In the same large room there are also two comfortable sofas, and a television. Overall a warm and comfortable place to relax.

The bedroom and bathroom upstairs were great. A large and comfortable sleeping area, with a bathroom that offered both a shower and a bath.

As I use a wheelchair we were both wondering whether the property would suit my needs... We had worried about lots of things like whether the door frames of the house, (internal and external), would be wide enough to get around in a wheelchair and whether the bathroom would be okay a wheelchair user to use. However, we shouldn't have been concerned. I could easily move around the downstairs of the property. All of the internal doors and were wide enough and it was easiest for me to enter the house via the double doors into the kitchen at the rear of the property.

The downstairs bathroom is a wet room, that also has bars next to the slightly raised toilet, that could be pulled down to use if needed. Although a shower stool was left to use in the wet room, I brought the shower chair with wheels with me that I normally use to shower at home - (I did this to be on the safe side, as I know that this works for me).

There was a lovely bedroom downstairs, that I was also able to access and use.

We had a great stay... Jonathan walked or ran with Thomas on the beach every day, we went to Amble, a few times to National Trust property 'Cragside', to the Saxon church in Edlingham and ruins of Edlingham castle. Wonderful! Thank you Andrea.

(NB: For background, I am 55 years old woman and I now have Secondary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis, that I have had since 1994.)

Northumberland has miles of unspoilt beaches along its coastline, making it a perfect place to relax and Warkworth is a perfect base for visiting the many local attractions.

Along the miles of dramatic coastline, there are a number of castles located close to beach and sit alongside quaint and pretty villages. Warkworth Castle, Dunstanburgh Castle, Bamburgh Castle and Alnwick Castle (where the Harry Potter movies were filmed) have long and interesting histories and provide a perfect day out for both adults and children. The Alnwick Gardens are also worth a visit, where you can have a guided tour around the poison garden, walk around gardens and see the splendour of the waterfall. Alnwick town is a traditional market town where you can do a spot of shopping and there are a number of pubs, restaurants and cafes for a spot of lunch. There is also a playhouse and museum which are located only a short walk from Alnwick Castle and the town centre. There are a number of supermarkets and just outside of the town centre and leisure centre.

There are also a number of links golf courses along the coastline from Warkworth to Berwick.

Further afield, you can reach Edinburgh to the South and Newcastle and Durham to the North local Alnmouth train station at Hipsburn. If travelling by car, you can also visit the Angel of the North and the Metro Centre for some retail therapy.
