Why The Owner chose Charing

Charing is perfectly located for so many things - beaches, castles, shopping, history, countryside, day trips to London and France. You can get to any of the beautiful Kent beaches within 45 minutes - from the north coast at Whitstable round to the east at Broadstairs, Deal and St Margaret's Bay to the southern shores of Camber. Leeds Castle is only 10 minutes in the car from here and is a favourite place for family outings. Apart from exploring the stunning beauty of the castle and grounds there are so many activities for children to enjoy - a huge maze, two playgrounds, birds of prey shows, Go-Ape! and segways, not to mention hot air ballooning. Still within an hour's drive, are the stunning castles of Dover, Bodium, Scotney, Reculver and Hever. There is excellent shopping too with the Designer Outlet in Ashford, all the major shops in Canterbury and Maidstone, Bluewater only 40 minutes by car, or Westfield - one of the biggest shopping malls in Europe - only 25 minutes on the High Speed train from Ashford International station. The surrounding countryside is fabulous, perfect for dog walks or ambling out for a pub lunch. From the front door you can head straight up to the hills of the North Downs experiencing the beautiful views of the Weald of Kent stretching as far as the English Channel. In Charing you are only 20 minutes by car to the Eurotunnel terminal so day trips to France are as easy as they are to London. The High speed takes 37 minutes from Ashford to St Pancras, or you can take the slower train directly from Charing station ( 2 minutes walk) to London Victoria.

What makes this house unique

This house has a fantastic location, spacious rooms, and modern facilities. It is situated in a quiet village cul de sac in a friendly safe neighbourhood with the charms of old medieval Charing only a few minutes' walk from the door. With plenty of bedrooms, bathrooms and reception rooms it is ideal for family life. The private garden with its large patio and lawn is a welcome spot to enjoy BBQs and meals outside during the summer, and with the summer house you can still enjoy the outdoors under shelter if necessary. The large green outside the front of the house is perfect for outdoor sports, whilst the path around it is a safe place for children to cycle, roller blade or skateboard. With so much parking facility in the car port and driveway, the garage itself is used to house the ping pong table, so hours of fun can be spent there.

Very nice property with lots of space for adults and kids to stay and not get in each others way. Big rooms both upstairs and down with plenty of wash rooms. Ample parking for cars . WiFi for those who can't live without it. Very well equipped for almost everything. 7 of us stayed here with ease. Definitely worth a stay , you won't be disappointed. 👍

Perfect home in a lovely location.

We loved our Stay at Ellen Close. The house was amazing, every comfort you need is provided and lots of little extras which made the stay even more fun. From the moment we arrived we felt at home and relaxed and knew we had picked the perfect place to stay. Ginny the owner was so helpful and welcoming and this made our visit stress free. The Village of Charing is very pretty with some beautiful old buildings and made a lovely base for exploring Kent. Leeds Castle is very close by and well worth a visit. Loved our stay and hope to go back one day.
