About Lamb's Knees Holiday Home

I was born & brought up in the North of Scotland, whilst Ian grew up in nearby Brighton where trips to Cuckmere Valley were a family favourite. We both followed careers in science. We now live close to Lamb's Knees Holiday Home as we love the area and we are certain that our guests will too.

Lamb's Knees Holiday Home purchased this house in 2015

Why Lamb's Knees Holiday Home chose Seaford

The location is fantastic: less than 5 mins walk to the beach, 1 min walk to local shops and restaurants and 10 mins walk to the start of the South Downs National Park which includes the Cuckmere Valley and the iconic Seven Sisters White Cliffs. Within a few minutes you can completely get away from it all on one of many tranquil walk on the Downs where you can experience nature at its best! We particularly love Springtime when the fields are full of little lambs happily gamboling, in fact the lambs on their wobbly legs were the inspiration for the name of our Holiday Home 'Lamb's Knees'.

What makes this house unique

The original Victorian design of the house is so quirky and characterful. There is so much space that everyone can find their own little quiet spot. The 'Snug' is a fabulous room, with a wood burning stove, which opens into the kitchen, ideal for chatting & relaxing with the family whilst keeping an eye on cooking dinner.

Children absolutely love the 3rd floor playroom and very quickly scamper up the 'secret' staircase to explore the awaiting treasure. They also love the 'bunk bed room' offering them a safe and cozy private den at the end of the corridor.

Immaculate home in a great spot.

  • 5 of 5

This is a character home with new home cleanliness. Very well equipped and an excellent location minutes from the High St and the beach. Provisions and fire ready to light with extensive informatIon about the home and the area. Kids loved the playroom. Although my children are now older, I have never seen a holiday home so well equipped for an infant.

Beautiful immaculate house

  • 5 of 5

Lambs Knees is a beautiful elegant house with a great little private garden. It is immaculate and also has parking which is a real bonus. We were very happy with the location - so close to all eateries and shops etc .We mostly ate out, 'The Grumpy Chef' being one of our favourite informal restaurants. Laura and Ian are lovely hosts and so obliging. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a fabulous review. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us and were so pleased with the location. Seaford does offer lots of lovely restaurants and cafes (with incredible cakes) so we're glad that you were able to sample a few of them. It's great that you managed to squeeze in a few walks, particularly the beautiful coastal walk over Seaford Head with panoramic views of the Cuckmere Valley and Seven Sisters white chalk cliffs. It was an absolute pleasure having you to stay with us and we hope to see you again in the near future.

great family holiday

  • 4 of 5

Laura gave us a lovely welcome into the holiday home and made us very welcome . The house had everything we needed and more, and was very clean and tidy. It was a great location for us with a wide age range of folk staying, so was great for my father in his 80's being able to get into town and walk along the seafront. It was a good place for the younger ones (20's) with the cafes and pubs at walking distance. We had a great week catching up with family and exploring old places again. Prawning at Birling Gap, Swimming at Tide Mills, Walking to Hope Gap, a visit to Charleston house,(book tickets) as tour was very good. Ending with a fish and chip supper from the 'Trawlers'. Once again a big thankyou to Laura and Ian for making it so easy to stay in their homely holiday let.

Outstanding service; a real delight. Highly recommend.

  • 5 of 5

Incredibly thoughtfully prepared by the owners taking into account our children's ages which the owners had checked in advance. The house really has almost anything you could need including an amazing playroom for kids, was very comfortable and in a great location only minutes from the beach and all amenities. Plenty of information provided by the owners about local shops, restaurant recommendations etc. The local area has lots to offer and we were also provided with really useful guides to walks, local tourist attractions etc. Highly recommend.
