Great apartment with wonderful Colosseum views and perfect location

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful place to stay while in Rome! Cecilia made sure that we felt right at home, and her kindness in arranging airport transportation and in making sure we were aware of nearby restaurants and a handy grocery was much appreciated.

Everything worked well in this well-appointed apartment - just as expected based on the listing. To look out at the Colosseum as we ate at the table or from the bedroom was unforgettable. The location is ideal - a 2 minute walk to the Colosseum or to the Colosseo metro station / bus stop, from which one can go anywhere easily. The major train station is only two stops away on the metro, so it was easy to get to our train to Naples/Pompeii.

We miss Rome and this wonderful apartment and hope someday to return!

Can't Beat the Location!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for 10 days and couldn't have been more pleased. Yes, it was August and a little hot, but the rooms were cool and both bedrooms had air conditioning. To wake up every morning and look out the window staring directly at the (good side) Coloseum was amazing. We would just open the windows and Coloseum watch and people watch. The metro was 2 minutes away and we were able to get all around Rome without any problems. Alfredo is a great host and met us on arrival and departure, showed us around, and was all around a great host. Thanks for everything and whenever we're in Rome, this will be the place that you will find us! And all of our friends who we've recommended this place to!

Made Rome Manageable

  • 5 of 5

This apartment was spacious and an excellent value. We stayed five nights and would recommend it. The location is right across the street from the Colosseum with an excellent view of the Colosseum from the master bedroom, dining room and living/3rd bedroom. It's a half-block from the Metro, an easy walk to groceries. The furnishings are nice and traditional for those that went to Rome to see history rather than modern. It slept 4 comfortably and could have slept more. There are no buildings opposite it, so it is fairly private. The kitchen was small but allowed us to avoid eating out for breakfasts and most dinners. Having it as a home base made Rome feel manageable. You could hear the nightclub below the master bedroom, but it didn't prevent anyone from sleeping. The WiFi worked well, and the laundry was helpful.

Wonderful Location

  • 5 of 5

This apartment has the absolute best view from the master bedroom, living and dining rooms. We were blown away by just how close it is to the Colosseum. The bathrooms are updated and the showers are better than most hotels in Europe with hot water always available. The kitchen is small and we did not use it except for making coffee in the mornings. As other reviewers have stated, the street noise is loud if windows are open but otherwise we didn't find it too difficult to get to sleep. The restaurants downstairs were not noisy and we didn't hear or notice any nightclub noises, although we stayed mid-week and perhaps this could be more of an issue on the weekends.

Access to the bus and metro system is within yards from the apartment and the Forum, Pantheon, Palatine Hill, Trevi Fountain and Museum Capitole were within 15 minutes walking distance.

The apartment manager, Alfredo met us when we arrived and was very helpful providing information on buses and taxis. We were travelling as a family with two 20 yr olds and only having one key proved difficult. Unfortunately on our last evening the key was inadvertently locked inside the apartment and Alfredo needed to be called for re-entry. Two sets of keys could have alleviated this and allowed for our family to accommodate different interests without the need to coordinate who had possession of the only key.

I would definitely stay in this apartment if we were to visit Rome again and will recommend to our friends and family.

Essentially romantic Roman style

  • 5 of 5

Awesome location overlooking the most iconic building of the ancient world. The flat has simply breathtaking views of the Coliseum exactly as the owner's photos show.

This is a family owned flat where Cecelia and her brother grew up. There are 2 spacious rooms, the double faces the Coliseum, the twin room overlooks the side street. A fifth bed can be made up in the living room. There are 2 bathrooms both modernised and easy to use, and views of the Coliseum. Finally there is a dining room facing the magnificent building, and a kitchen. By modern standards, the kitchen is very compact if you intend to feed a family everyday, but okay if you eat out most the time, just having breakfast and coffee etc.

With a large hallway and high ceilings, the flat feels very spacious and comfortable. The floors are stone or marble with occasional rugs and carpet where needed. This helps to keep it cool in the hot Roman heat as does the bedroom air-conditioning.

It is an authentic period flat full of family's antiques. In the old sewing machine we found a personal letter from World War 2!

The flat is very well located for transport to all the sights of Rome. The Forum starts just a few hundred metres away as does the bus stop for the circular tourist bus. The metro station is a few stops from the Central Station and accessed by going down about fifty steps and walking for 5 minutes.

There are many places to eat out and also a supermarket about 10 minutes walk south-east of the flat. The restaurants there are of differing quality and corresponding prices, and we found we could feed a family well at a good standard for about 100 euros. If you're looking for a more discerning dining experience further away, Cecelia has left a basket where previous guests have deposited cards.

Cecelia is a delightful and classy Italian lady who is very helpful, and provides enough information to ensure you have a memorable stay. She is contactable by text and email throughout.

If you are looking for the perfect Roman city break then I recommend you stay on this page and book immediately.
