About the property

San José is a small, unsophisticated seaside town within the Cabo de Gata Natural Park just East of Almeria city. There is no high rise development so although the town has grown bigger than the original fishing village, it retains a traditional Mediterranean look and feel.

Our house is a well-appointed air conditioned property in a quiet location on the town’s South Western outskirts with superb sea view across San José bay and out to the Mediterranean, including the marina and main beach. Large communal pool and gardens in a gated community of 12 houses. Beautifully furnished comfortable lounge / dining room and open plan kitchen. Kitchen is fully equipped with hob, oven, microwave, Fridge / Freezer. Air conditioning in lounge / diner and both bedrooms. Washing machine. The house has a log burner for winter. Upstairs accommodation: Main bedroom with Queen Size bed and en suite shower room. Second bedroom, with twin beds and balcony overlooking the pool and gardens. Family shower room.

Front patio equipped with table, 4 chairs and parasol. Rear patio with table and four chairs, leading to pool and attractive garden with communal barbecue.

Comfortable well equipped property with great views

This property is a very pleasant town house in a small urbanisation on the hillside overlooking the bay of St Jose. It has Spanish architecture and is well equipped throughout, with thoughtful and artistic touches that makes it feel like a home. The sofas and mattresses are good quality and comfortable.

A Wonderful Accommodation in Every Way

We stayed at this vrbo for four nights off season. Paco met us and gave us a brief tour of the house. The house looks out at a bay, which then opens to the Mediterranean Sea. You can see the bay from the living room and from the master bedroom upstairs. I liked that it had many kitchen amenities to cook with in the kitchen....something you don't always find in a vrbo. The house was clean. The bed was very comfortable. There was enough heat even off season to keep us comfortable. The decor is pleasing. It is not far from some great hiking in Cabo de Gata National Park. It was the cat's meow for me. I'd highly recommend this vrbo!

Modern, local style house in gorgeous location

I hardly ever do reviews of places but enjoyed this so much I couldn't not. I could go on and on about how much we enjoyed staying here. In fact, me my husband and our 2 20 something year olds did! A lot. We were there for 5 days. Super service and comms from both owner and local property manager. He was there late on a Friday night before Christmas to let us in and explain everything. We'd flown into Malaga after a Europe trip, so a fair drive plus other complications. I was praying all would go to plan, and it was even better. Brought coffee for the machine, firewood etc and no problem if we needed anything else. Couldn't have been more accomodating, just text him. There was no need though. Really positive that the local manager and the owner service is so aligned.

House is airy and absolutely spotless, modern incl kitchen with loads of cooking implements that work; we cooked our Christmas dinner there. Views are better than the photos, lots of information provided ie maps, local info.

In a quiet location and lovely walk to the village area.

Pool area is lovely, clean and well maintained despite it being technically low-season. So nice we were game even if unheated!

We headed out for walks daily, mostly down the east coast, over the coastal hills and dropping down into coves for quick dips ( water temp. about 14:)) and picnics.

Also great for trips by car in the area; we did have a car and if we'd been there longer would have done that but the local walking area is great.

Local supermarkets cover all the essentials and more, and plenty of choice for food and drinks even though it was winter. The small local food market was there on the Christmas weekend too.

I'm loath to say great time of year to visit as I don't want it booked out for my next trip. ...
