About this property

Traditional Portugese house amid wooded hills

The property dates from the eighteenth century but was rebuilt and modernised in 2003. Situated in the small village of Pisao close to the picturesque town of Coja to which you can drive in ten minutes or enjoy a walk over the mountain takes about forty five minutes, excellent for dog walking!
The house is built on three levels with a basement garage, the main living area being on the middle floor comprising the sitting room, fully fitted kitchen, three double bedrooms, one with dressing room, bathroom and additional toilet. On the top floor is a toilet/shower room and a large bedroom which will sleep four but is not recommended in the Summer months as it is under the roof and can be very hot in the Summer, the house comfortably sleeps six on the middle floor with two double bedrooms and the third with a pair of bunk beds.
The house boasts three sun terraces, the main one on the middle floor having a covered barbecue area under which you can sit in the cool on hot days or enjoy a BBQ in the dry if it happens to rain.
The terraces look out over to wooded hills and a mountaintop village and at the rear of the house there is a parking place for two or three cars. Behind the house is the track that leads you up the opposite side of the valley through the forest towards Coja.
There is a wood burning stove in the sitting room and logs are provided for this as well as for use on the barbecue, there is electric heating in the rest of the property if needed, there is WiFi too!
Casa Colmeia is a lovely cosy and comfortable home with plenty of space and character, the location is despite being on the roadside, generally quiet and agricultural with easy access to larger towns and all the pleasures of central Portugal. Local River Beaches are very popular in the Summer months.
An ideal location for a relaxing family holiday with all the home comforts, our local English friends are on hand to assist you if you have any issues during your stay and they also speak Portugese

6/10 Okay
