About John & Maggie Roberts, Dormer Cottage, Gastard, Corsham, Wilts SN13 9PU .

John is originally from Cornwall and Maggie from Norfolk. We met in Cambridge and have since lived in Dorset, Oxfordshire and more recently in Wiltshire.

John is a languages teacher and Maggie a retired practice nurse.

We have two grown up sons, one of whom lives with his family in St Agnes.

John now enjoys retirement as an amateur musician and Maggie works as a jewellery designer and maker.

Why John & Maggie Roberts, Dormer Cottage, Gastard, Corsham, Wilts SN13 9PU . chose Saint Agnes

When our children were growing up we always used to come to St Agnes in the summer holidays for family reasons and because Trevaunance Cove was a safe beach for our budding young surfers.

Later on we were delighted to find Trehane which has proved to be a wonderful Cornish base for us and other family members.

We've always regarded it as our family bolt hole and have equipped it very much much as a second home; we have been delighted to welcome holiday guests over the years and a number have become regular visitors.

What makes this apartment unique

Trehane provides a great base for visiting all sorts of other places in Cornwall and there are plenty of them (do look at our brochure pack in the lounge).

Tregothnan Gardens near Truro are 16 miles away, Trebah in Mawnan Smith 19 miles, The Lost Gardens of Heligan 22 miles, Lanhydrock near Bodmin 29 miles.

We particularly love St Agnes because it's such a friendly working village and there's always a lot going on:- for example live music in most of the pubs, the Carnival, the Victorian Fete, the Bolster (local legendary giant) procession through Churchtown followed by a charming amateur play performed on the cliffs above Chapel Porth etc etc.

There are lots of good eateries in the village, some featuring reasonably priced lobster caught at Trevaunance Cove - a rare delight - and other seafood as well as excellent meat and vegetarian options.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We have not since long returned from a wonderful week in Trehane, St Agnes. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we loved everything about it - the flat was so beautifully presented, light, spacious, airy, comfortable, well equipped - and the bottle of bubbly in the fridge a really lovely welcome! Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness.

We loved the situation over the centre of the village and the shops, the village itself, the walk down Stippy Stappy, the cove, the sea, the cliffs.

We hope to be able to return to Trehane some time and get to know the area better. In the meantime, thank you again for a fantastic base for a fantastic holiday.
