About this property

Stunning views surround this fully equipped and modernised lakeland cottage.

Dating back to the 19th Century, this delightful detached stone cottage sits amongst spectacular scenery and is ideally located in the lovely Cumbrian village of Eskdale Green.
The cottage has been renovated to a high standard, the old part retaining its cosy feel, whilst the new part is light and spacious and looks out over the stunning scenery that surrounds it.
The large kitchen is fully equiped with a double oven cooker, electric hob, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. There are also coffee makers, a bread maker, Magimix, Air fryer and many other amenities for your use.
Leading from the kitchen is the conservatory breakfast room which has wonderful views of the garden and surrounding scenery.
The large conservatory has comfortable seating and dining table and 180 degree view of the surrounding countryside. We have had red” squirrels in the garden!
There is a cosy sittingroom and dining room in the old part of the cottage with facilities for coats, shoes and wellies, TV, armchairs and settee.
Upstairs the bedroom houses a king sized bed and clothes storage facilities. Next to this room is a large, modern bathroom with bath, washbasin, toilet and excellent shower over the bath ( we have superb water pressure in the property ).
There is internet connection at the cottage and a telephone that can be used for incoming calls and local calls out. EE seems to have the best reception for mobiles and we always get a reception in the conservatory rather than the rest of the house.
The cottage has central heating and electric heaters.
There is ample off road parking for 2 vehicles at the property,
Outdoor tables and chairs, BBQ, lawn and patio are in a totally enclosed areas if you do have a dog with you. We may consider a second dog also.
All bed linen and towels will be provided and there will be a “welcome pack” on your arrival, including the essentials of milk, tea, coffee and sugar.

Beautiful away from it all stay
Lovely property in an excellent location. Very well equipped kitchen and cottage had everything you need. Didn’t make much use of downstairs toilet as in converted garage across the parking area. A couple of minor issues were resolved quickly by the owner. Quirky, spacious property - would definitely return.

Eskdale Surprise
Great find, great value. If anything, the listing under-sells itself. The property is well presented and in a very picturesqe location. you have the conveinience of a pub less than 5 mins away for those who don't want to cook and a steam railway for novelty trips to the coast. On top of that, you're in the Lakes. Who could ask for more.

Great Location
Stunning views, Great walks, a couple of pubs, shop, and the Eskdale railway literally out the door. The sun also never went in, good communication with the host, and the cottage has everything you need!

Lovely comfortable homely holiday house
We found Green Lodge to be a very homely comfortable place to stay. It had a very nice sitting room at the back of the house with views over fields to the distant fells. The kitchen was newly done up, well equipped & had everything you could need.

Everything i could wish for
Great cottage, with loads of space inside and out., with stunning vistas all around. All the appliances and equipment you need for a holiday and in a beautiful location away from the honeypot town and villages of the Lakes. Perfect.

My husband's family came to Eskdale in the 1800's and there has been a connection with it ever since.

Why they chose this property

After camping in Eskdale for many, many years we finally found this lovely cottage in the most perfect position.
It is also our holiday home so you will find some of our possessions there which, we feel, all go towards making it a "home from home".
