To describe the position of Velva, imagine being in the center of a semicircle on which there are the most beautiful places of the Ligurian Riviera (and some are among the finest ever) such as Portofino, Santa Margherita, Rapallo, Chiavari, Sestri Levante, Moneglia, Deiva, Levanto, Cinque Terre, Portovenere. All the crow flies are between 5 and 25 km; by car or motorbike will reach between 20 and 60 minutes.

Velva is atop the Val Petronio, in the extreme east of the Gulf of Tigullio, in the middle of the Levante Ligurian Riviera.

Val Petronio, less than 10 km as the crow flies, begins with Velva to 500 meters above sea level and ends in the beautiful and tourist Sestri Levante, also called "the Bimare" for the spectacular peninsula on which is her characteristic historical center. Sestri Levante closes to the east the magnificent semi-circle of the Gulf of Tigullio, which in West closes with the famous Portofino and its promontory, wonderful village and charming park.

Velva offers a breathtaking view of the entire valley, with its villages - Missano, Castiglione Chiavarese (Capital City), Campegli, Boulder, Casarza Ligure and finally - on the sea - Sestri Levante.

Velva is reached from Sestri Levante in 15 min with the Provincial Road SP523: a well-maintained road with many curves but quiet that winds first along the river Petronio and besides in the green hills, between chestnut trees, olive groves and vineyards.

Velva is also the western boundary of the National Park of Cinque Terre, the flagship of the international tourism. Monterosso, the first of the Cinque Terre, is far less than 10 km as the crow flies; by car the vague route through valleys and hills, and takes 45 minutes by car, but it is very impressive if you love nature. Reached faster by train from Sestri Levante or by sea, by boat of the Maritime Services (Summer only).

Even Deiva and Moneglia are very close, even within walking distance with a few hours hiking; by car it takes about 30 min. Hiking, walking, biking, or horseback, are the highlight; for those who love hill-mountain in the Ligurian Alps to the nearby mountains are Mount Bath, Monte Alpe, Monte Pu, Monte Gottero; besides step of Mola, step of Crosses, Passo del Bocco, step of Rastello.

The nearby Val di Vara, which begins on the watershed of Velva hill, offers inland virtually unlimited number of different routes, but all fascinating. The chestnut, pine and acacia trees, stretching as far as the eye can see in a pleasant and authentically rural landscape. Its exposure to the southwest makes more mild weather in winter and less sticky in summer. All around, within a few kilometers, there are a number of organic farms where you can buy directly gourmet products: cheeses, meats and local wines. Center of excellence for lovers of these specialties, Varese Ligure, which lies just 12 km away.

Sestri Levante, has an important railway junction where the local regional trains (which easily connect to the aforementioned Portofino and the Cinque Terre and Genoa in just half an hour over an hour) and Intercity (Pisa is less than 1 hour 30 minutes); Motorway from access of Sestri Levante Milan is less than 180 km, as well as Florence.

We arrive at the village of Velva, charming, romantic, authentic and intriguing, with its ancient "ends", that carelessness of the time made it even more interesting. Here you can feel the ancient life of the ancient cellars, tastes and sounds of the past ... Until you get to the church and its square, where you can enjoy more fascinating glimpse into the ancient valley, which stretches down to the sea of Sestri. If a clear day you can see far away the Savoyard Alpes Maritimes. The origins of the town, originally called Veleura, are lost in the Etruscan period. The house is located in Via Del Re Martino, which is accessed from the main road and follow the signs "Centro Storico" or "home Apartment L'Antica Torre". The area is a former vineyard, facing south, overlooking the valley. A 360-degree gaze rests on the untouched nature of green, the continuity of which is interrupted only by small villages in the surrounding area
