Guestbook comments from the owner

I'm just coming to the end of a fantastic weekend at Dinmore Cottage in Reeth. I will be very sad to be leaving this idyllic location for the hustle and bustle of normal life. The cottage is very homely, beautifully decorated and well equipped. It is very warm and cosy even without the wood burning stove (which is amazing on a cold wintery night). It has all mod cons so that you can keep in touch with the outside world. The village is fairly small but it does have plenty of shops and a good number of pubs for food and good beer. It's a great place for walking and cycling. The views from the cottage are amazing and there are some lovely market towns nearby to explore.

We were met by the owners and their attention to detail and warm welcome added to my experience and I will definitely be returning soon for another visit. Thank you Jo and Gareth for sharing your gorgeous cottage.

Weekend away

  • 5 of 5

Cute and cozy, little cottage, very well maintained and equipped. The cottage is in a great location for walks right on your doorstep, and the village of Reeth is in a scenic location with a couple of Shops and 3 pubs, everyone was friendly and the pubs served great food and a good range of beers. I would most definitely recommend a visit.

The perfect escape

  • 5 of 5

It was perfect! From the decor and location through to the welcome pack and little eccentricities that make Dinmore what it is. Oh, and lets not forget Gareth and Jo.....

Compact and clean. A lovely little cottage with everything you need, in a lovely part of the world

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely week and the cottage was lovely and comfortable. It has a few quirky features that take a little while to get used to, but it added to our enjoyment anyway. The cottage is situated in a lovely part of the village. Reeth itself is very pretty and has everything you need with plenty of local shops and 3 pubs, all on your doorstep. The local museum is worth a look too. With so many breath-taking walks on your doorstep, you wont need to drive anywhere. There is a local map of Reeth walks, which I highly recommend, as it covers a large area and there's something different around each corner on every walk and they all start from the village green. We would definitely go again, as there is so much to see.

Location

There are numerous walking and cycling routes around Swaledale available from the front door. Bikes can be hired in nearby Fremington. Wensleydale and Wharfedale are within easy reach.

Reeth has plenty of cafes and pubs, a post office, village stores, gift shops, an outdoor shop, a bakery and a deli. Further details are available in the cottage.

There is a local Congregational church and Methodist church.

The popular market towns of Leyburn, Richmond and Barnard Castle are all within 30 minutes’ drive from the cottage.

There is a good selection of destination and attraction leaflets in the cottage. Reeth Tourist Information Office is just across the green
