The Apartment - Ta` Katrin

Ta’ Katrin apartment is a brand new apartment served with lift and situated on the second floor level in a block of only 5 units. This apartment is close to all amenities and within walking distance of the village core, restaurants and the spectacular Marsascala promenade.

The apartment enjoys a welcoming squarish layout consisting of a bright and airy 40 m squared open plan kitchen/ dining/ living, 2 double bedrooms, shower and laundry room.

The kitchen is well equipped with an electric oven, microwave, hob, fridge/freezer and coffee machine. Dining area accommodates 6 people and leads to a spacious terrace enjoying tranquil sea views of Marsascala Bay. The terrace is equipped with a gas bbq and outdoor furniture where one can enjoy alfresco dining.

The spacious living area includes a comfortable sofa that can be turned into a double bed to accommodate 2 extra guests, TV and Wi Fi. Bed linen and towels come at no additional cost.

A promise of a peaceful night can be enjoyed in any of the double bedrooms which both come complete with spacious wardrobes. The master bedroom consists also of king sized bed and a large chest of drawers. This bedroom opens to a spacious balcony enjoying country views. All bedrooms as well as living area are fully air conditioned (pay per use).

About George Debono

My name is George and I live in the locality of Zurrieq in Malta together with my wife Cynthia and our two daughters, Michela and Julia. Azure Bay Holidays is a small family run business which we have established and run jointly for the last ten years. To note that it originally was set up as GCM Holiday Apartments.

How did we start?

The first property making up the portfolio of Azure Bay Holidays was Ta' Kurun property in the locality of Marsascala in October 2006. After 5 years renting Ta' Kurun apartment, we bought our second property adjacent to the first one......Ta' Rosi apartment which accommodates 5 persons.

We have very recently invested our energies in expanding our portfolio of apartments through the addition of two new properties:

- Ta` Gakob apartment situated in Mellieha which is a quaint village in the northern part of the island surrounded by nice beaches and numerous tourist attractions;

-Ta` Guli and Ta` Marron apartments both located in Marsascala and offer a chance for a relaxing holiday in comfortable surroundings; and

- Ta` Kilina apartment located in Qala, Gozo which is Malta`s sister island. The apartment comes with a communal pool, children`s pool, jacuzzi and an external garden. All these facilities can be viewed from the apartment`s terrace given that all are on the same ground level.

What is our motto?

Our motto is to offer accommodations of good value so that this increases the entire holiday package which the lovely country of Malta has to offer to its tourists.

A lovely, centrally located, holiday property.

This is a modern, well appointed apartment located near the center of Marsascala. The balcony overlooks the harbour and the sun shines onto it during the morning. It has a well equipped kitchen so that you have the choice of making your own meals. However, it is a short walk into Marsascala with its wide choice of restaurants that offer you a wonderful opportunity to taste the local cuisine. Another advantage is that Marsascala is well connected to Valetta by the local bus service so it is easy to go there for a day trip.

The owner, George, is very friendly and will be happy to tell you what you can do during your holiday at Ta' Katrin.

Superb Holiday

A wonderful holiday we'll treasure all our lives! Ta' Katrin apartment is a new apartment close to all amenities like shops, bus terminus restaurants and Marsascala promenade is just a 3 minute walk away! Apartment was spotless clean, very well equipped and with a modern and fresh decor. My husband and I loved all the natural light and ample space. Our host Goerge made sure we were very well pampered and picked us up from the airport and on the way he patiently answered all our questions. He was also very helpful and once at the apartment indicated 'must see' places on a map. During our stay we were blessed with 5 days of sunshine and just a rainy day which we spent all relaxed enjoying our apartment. We were surprised by the vast history and interesting places this tiny island has to offer and we will be visiting again in summer to enjoy the spectacular beaches. We highly recommend this apartment ... a true gem!

Absolutely superb

This is an almost new apartment a short downhill walk from the lovely harbour area. The view from the balcony is superb and the place is very well equipped. Everything seems to have been provided, there is even a BBQ. We spent a week here and loved it. Thank you George.

Marsascala: It is an ancient fishing village in Malta, with a picturesque bay, located in the southeast corner of the island. The town has a population of 10,024 people. The town has grown up around the sheltered bay, Marsascala Creek, and is protected by the headland of Ras il-Gżira to the south and by Ras iż-Żonqor, to the north. The town today stretches on both sides of the bay and Marsascala’s bay has a promenade continuing all the way to St Thomas Bay with views of low shelving rocks, colourful fishing boats and saltpans. In summer, the village is buzzing with life and many Maltese families have summer homes in this lovely, picturesque bay - the population rises to 20,000 in summer. Marsascala has a range of modern leisure facilities, bars and restaurants.

Marsascala: Things to do and see

St. Thomas Bay: This bay provides an ideal spot for swimming and sunbathing.

St Thomas Tower: Grandmaster Alof de Wignacourt began building Fort St Thomas in the exact location where the enemy had landed in 1614, on a plot of land bought previously by the same Grandmaster

Mamo Tower: A few years later, in 1657, the Mamo family built Mamo Tower at Tar-Rumi, on the road leading to Zejtun. It is not as big and as strong as St Thomas; it is built on a plan of St Andrew's cross and has a small dry moat around it also had a drawbridge in the past.

Other interesting sights....Tal-Buttar Tower, Redin Tower (Zonqor) and the Salt Pans.
