About Louis Agabani

I have lived in the area with my family since 2001. Wells is a glorious place to be and an easy city to live in.

We used to run a toy shop in Wells, which has sadly closed several years ago.

Why Louis Agabani chose Mendip (Glastonbury)

The cottage has a very calm and relaxing feeling about it. Although it is in a city it always amazes us how quite and peaceful it is. The garden is a sun trap (when it's out), so can get quite warm.

What makes this cottage unique

Wells, is England’s second smallest city behind the City of London, is packed full of gems including a beautiful Cathedral, Bishops Palace with moated gardens and central market square.

There is a wide range of restaurants and coffee shops including award winning Goodfellows and new arrival Ensemble.

Also a wide variety of national stores and independent boutiques in Wells as well as shopping destinations Kilver Court and Clarks Village

It has Somerset's best farmers market every Wednesday and general market every Saturday featuring wide range of local foods and beverages, antiques and books.

There is Lots to do in the local area from riding and fishing to cycling on the levels. Local attractions including Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole, Hauser & Wirth in Bruton and historic houses and gardens including Stourhead and Montacute House.

Plus a great local pub just two minutes walk from the cottage as well as a local convenience store.

To top it all up Wells has been used film Hollywood blockbusters like Hot Fuzz.

Beautiful, comfortable, brilliantly located and charmingly decorated cottage

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful experience staying at the cottage. The staggeringly beautiful Cathedral and Bishop's Palace are just a short walk away. The cottage itself really is charming - light and airy but warm and cosy, with lots of cool details - exactly as it appears in the photos. The back garden is just lovely. The big kitchen is a pleasure to cook in, and the enormous laundry was very much appreciated! The Budgens attached to the petrol station a two-minute walk away is great, with enough delicious local produce to keep us supplied for the meals we didn't eat out. We also thoroughly enjoyed the farmers' market in the town square on Wednesday. The cottage is a very convenient base to explore the area by car, including Bath and Cheddar Gorge - as though Wells isn't gorgeous enough! This family of four Melburnians was very lucky to have spent five nights here. Many thanks to Louis!

Very clean and tidy. Very quiet despite of busy street. If required, fast and friendly help by the owner. We will like to come back!

Lovely, lovely, lovely!

  • 5 of 5

I thoroughly enjoyed my 4 week stay at the cottage. It is the type of accommodation that I quickly grew to love. Bright and airy, charming and well presented, comfortable and quaint.

The cottage is beautifully decorated, very clean, and contains everything you would need for any length of stay. Louis and his wife are excellent hosts and the neighbors are very kind and friendly as well. I would highly recommend!
