This 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, duplex apartment is located in the centre of Praia da Luz on the Top Floor and benefits from panoramic SEA VIEWS.

The apartment has WI-FI and is also only a few minutes walk away from the shops, bars, restaurants, supermarkets and the beach.

The apartment has a spacious open plan living / dining area with patio doors opening onto a huge spacious south and east facing terrace with stunning sea views. The kitchen is fully fitted with hob, oven, washing machine, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle and coffee machine.

The bedrooms and bathrooms reside on the lower level. The master bedroom is a double room with patio doors opening onto a terrace, again with stunning sea views. This bedroom has an en-suite bathroom comprising of vanity unit, bath, walk-in shower, bidet and WC. The second bedroom is a twin room also with sea views and patio doors opening onto a terrace. The second bathroom consists of a vanity unit, bath with overhead shower and WC.

Since January 2017 there is no longer access to the pool nor the communal facilities.

First impressions - Fitness for purpose questionable and total refurbishment required..

Despite the inference in customers' reviews we were extremely annoyed and disappointed that the apartment did not have access to the adjacent pool and bar facilities.Indeed a brochure left in the apartment by the owner states these facilities available to guests.Also no guest information booklet available in apartment.The fact that the apartment is on two levels was not mentioned on website.This would have been helpful in our choice of stay as we are both in our early 70's and we do not find stairs particularly easy.The stairs were fairly steep (14 treads) so a handrail should be in place for safety reasons.On arrival the front door was sticking to the floor there was only one bedside lamp with non working bulb (no replacement bulbs) and several other bulbs not working and the kitchen mixer tap was very loose and falling apart.These were however attended to during our stay.Why was there no check on these things before customer arrival? The fridge door was difficult to open as doing so trapped fingers.On health and safety both the iron and hairdryer were very old and constituted a hazard to health and safety. The thermostat was not working on the iron (since replaced during our stay) and a pair of shorts was ruined due to excess heat.The hairdryer was heavy and had a loose clogged air intake.The mattresses and seat cushions on the outside furniture were filthy.They had obviously never been brought inside or replaced for a long time. We had to buy towels to cover them.There were dead plants on the balconies and the sun canopy was ripped to shreds and completely unusable.Kitchen equipment was poor There were no cereal bowls or eggcups and the teapot had a crack on the spout which did not pour well leaving drips.We had to request a change of towels as originally we were told they would not be changed for a week.Not good for holiday stayers.Bedroom furniture was sadly lacking in drawers and chairs.The shutter blind cord in the twin bedroom was seriously worn - again another safety problem.The cupboard doors under the wash basin in the twin bedded bathroom were kept shut by tissues! All very tatty.How the owners had the gall to charge such an exorbitant rent for the standard and condition of the accommodation provided is in our view daylight robbery.In its current condition we are surprised that the agency's standards have this apartment available to let.The only good things to mention were the views and the hot water.

Needs help

While the location can't be beat the apartment is in needs of some attention.

It's spacious, good towels and linens but no beach towels which seems odd to expect foreigners to pack around beach towels with them or go shop for them when stay in a beach resort town.

The view is beautiful.

There is a pool but the owner has chosen not to participate in the pool package so all you can do is look down on a beautiful pool but can't use

The furniture is in bad need of a cleaning, frying pans have no non stick finish anymore, the front door opens 2 inches and then catches on the floor and needs to be slammed to close. The walls could use some artwork to make it look a little more homey. Otherwise an enjoyable time

Nice views, needs money spent on apartment.

Apartment clean/sheets/towels etc. Very dated and in need of a refurbishment. Outside furniture poor. Brill view, there is no microwave. There is NO access to the pool or facilities we were refused entry, when we spoke to management we offered to pay for the four days but still no. The owners of the flat have been emailed by resort but will not pay so no pool, no bar, no snack bar, no kids area/pool. The company who rent this know this fact. When you read reviews you assume that there is pool access, wrong. The company don't mention anything about the pool etc. in the description but they do not tell you that you are not allowed to use the facilities either. They should take misleading reviews down. 5 mins walk to beach bars etc. The three stars are for the good cleaning job/wifi/views, take these out and its one star all the way

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review and we are very sorry that you were disappointed that due to the change in policy at Ocean Club, guests of owners are no longer allowed to use the facilities. This change came about in 2017. As a result we make this very well located apartment available for rental without access to these facilities. We note your comment however and will make this clearer on the property listing. We are pleased however that you found the apartment was presented clean and appreciate your rating in relation to this, the location, and WiFi facilities.

A fantastic holiday

We had fantastic holidays in Luz. The instructions to get into the apartment were clear. The apartment itself was great: very tidy and well equipped (grill, washing machine, sunbeds, etc.). But the greatest thing were two big terraces with the amazing ocean view. The location was perfect (10 min walk to the wonderful beach, 100 m to the nearest shop). I would recommend this place :)

A nice apartment with great views

Luz was a small seaside village with loads of touristic activity and atmosphere. Our resort/apartment was centrally located to all facilities and the beach. There was a nearby bus stop, grocery store and a variety of restaurants. The apartment was clean and spacious, with great views of the town and ocean.

An enjoyable stay

We very much enjoyed our stay at this apartment. The apartment is very nice, the terraces give a beautiful view on the beach. Both bedrooms have their own restroom and access to the terrace. The pool is nice, it's just a pity that it closes already at 7 pm.
