Why they chose this property
It is a unique place, an island of serenity close to all the best places of interest in Normandy - the D-day beaches and museum, water sports, medieval sites and fortresses, local farms and producers.
The public road is 1km from the buildings, so it provides the ultimate tranquility and immersion in nature combined with all modern comforts - the best of both worlds!

What makes this property unique
Property within the same family since the 12th century despite all the tragic events like the French revolution, the Second World War and number of natural disasters.
Today, we can still see the bullet holes in the walls and the signatures of American soldiers carved on the walls from the liberation day. We still have all the original medieval portraits of royal officials and family members, old books, letters and other objects of interest including some original interiors.
Staying in a place that should otherwise be a museum is a very unique experience for all guests.
It's important to note that unlike many castles, we are not a hotel or a venue where you can count on staff to do everything for you. This is our family home, which we are happy to share with you, and we encourage you as independent as possible and take care of it as if it's your own home.
If you need external catering or other suppliers we'd be happy to put you in touch with great local ones, which will contribute to the experience.
We're also happy to provide guests with a complimentary historical tour of the property during their stay.
