About the property

4 Bedroom/4 Ensuites captivating views of Croagh Patrick , Clew Bay & Woods

Our home has been used by us as a family get away for the last 17 years. It is set on over 3 acres with a long sweeping driveway behind electric gates. We have spent the last few months giving it a well deserved upgrade and a new lease of life. Upon entering the large two storey hallway it has been transformed into another sitting area with a two sided solid fuel glass fire which can be seen and operated from the hallway and also in the large sitting room directly behind the hallway. To the left of the hallway there are 3 double bedrooms with ensuites. All have power showers. In addition, there is a large bedroom and living area with newly renovated ensuite upstairs.

Right of the hallway is the open plan kitchen dining and sitting area. Behind this is the utility room with electric cooker, washing machine and dryer.

There is a sunken south facing patio area off the sitting room and also a west facing patio area outside the kitchen where you can watch the skies change and the sun set.

About Patricia O'Keeffe

We are lawyers from the West of Ireland who live and work in Dublin. We have spent many holidays over the years in our home in the west. We have spent the last few months updating the property and wish to share it with others who want a very unique , restful and beautiful place to stay.

Patricia O'Keeffe purchased this house in 1996

Why Patricia O'Keeffe chose Westport

Ask yourself do you want to get away from it all? Do you want comforts of a home with stunning amazing views? Do you want space both inside and outside? Do you want to be close to Westport town. Then this is the property for you. There is a magic and charm about this property. There are picture postcard views from every window. It is a very private and tranquil property with wonderful mature lawns and gardens set on over three acres. There is also a lovely orchard and raspberry garden on the grounds. It is hidden from the road with access by electric gates. We have holidayed regularly over the last 18 years here and watched our children enjoy the freedom of the property .

Having come from the area we love all that is on offer in the area and the county. There are so many interesting things to do. The list is truly endless. Regardless of the weather it makes for a wonderful base for a holiday. To have such a property so close to Westport is amazing.

It is a great home from home for a family get together or a family escaping!

What makes this house unique

We love the property as we built and designed it. We wanted a home that was spacious for entertaining family and friends. The reception areas are very spacious. The house is completely clad in a beautiful stone from Connemara which was painstakingly worked on for over four months by an expert stone mason. It is a very striking feature of the property.

The view of Croagh Patrick from each room is a wonderful sight to behold and it always captivates me. To sit on the terrace and see Croagh Patrick with a breath taking sunset is awesome.

There is an abundance of sun light coming through the house at every angle all day which gives a bright and warm feeling to the house. There is also the two sided real glass fire place which was added this year which is amazing.

You can also enjoy a fire and the incredible views in the main bedroom upstairs.

You can get lost in the tranquillity and just be a stones throw from the hustle and bustle of Westport.

We had a fabulous stay in this amazing property. It does not seem like a vacation rental as it features high-end amenities throughout. It is exactly as shown in the photos, but even better in person. Our favorite room was the huge kitchen which was warm and welcoming and had a large dining area. We used the comfortable living room after dinner. The house was a perfect fit for us. We were 6 adults (3 couples) but it could easily have taken another couple (four bedrooms). Lots and lots of room to spread out. Everything is top-notch here, from the furnishings to the high-thread linen. The owner has thought of everything. The kitchen was fully equipped and had everything you could need including washer, dryer and dishwasher. Quality linen, dishes, glass and silverware. Bathroom towels were big and plentiful. Internet connectivity was strong and reliable. Every inch was spotlessly clean, in mint condition, freshly painted and decorated with art and books and attractive, comfortable furnishings. The bedrooms were large and had more than ample storage. The bonus feature was Patricia who owns the property. She was incredibly gracious and very responsive to my many questions both months before and during our stay, including travel directions to other places as well as suggesting other things we might want to do and see. She was thoughtful about every aspect of our visit and checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. From the very first email at booking until we checked out she did everything she could to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We enjoyed the seclusion and silence of this large property with well-tended gardens. It is a few minutes drive from Westport which is a charming old town. We had a great meal in the Port Mor restaurant in Westport. We loved Mayo, Ashford Castle, Connemara and Galway (beautiful town). The Atlantic coastline is amazing. The golfers in our group were more than satisfied with the fine choices available. We would go back in a heartbeat. We couldn't have wished for a better place to stay.
