STONE BOAT HOUSE

The house is located in the municipality of Haria (Máguez with 600 inhabitants) in the north of the island, the less crowded tourist area .It is a rural setting and has 5 of the most important tourist centers of the island (Garden cactus, Cueva de los Verdes, Jameos del Agua, Mirador del Río and César Manrique House Museum), designed by the artist himself.
The house, for its location, enjoys extraordinary views of the Atalaya in the south, in the decline of the countryside, the coast, the east side and if we look north we see the magnificent volcano of La Corona.
In Máguez you can find two food shops, three bars and the post office.
There are several hiking trails that leave this area, for those who like to walk and walk to know the environment. And if we beach in 8 minutes drive, we arrived at La Garita Arrieta and other coastal areas, where the Atlantic waters sparkle and invite us to the bathroom for cleanliness and usually good tides.
A 12 km is the dock from where to start Órzola, daily boats to the island of La Graciosa.
The house dates from 1900, built in stone, renovated in 2000 with an area of 172 square meters (including garden). It can accommodate 4 people as it has 2 bedrooms. There are 2 floors, the first is the living room with wood stove, bathroom and kitchen and the garden has about 100 meters with a Laurel a Drago a ficus benjamina and other plants. And in the second there are 2 bedrooms, one with double bed and the other with two single beds of 90 cm. , Which you will always be put together if you want. Besides the rooms, there is a wide-oriented and very sheltered from the wind south, with beautiful views and lets you be very happy to do whatever the weather deck.
We are happy to provide information about what to see, where to eat, better schedules etc. Our house is very close to what may arise and we would like if everything is grade I tell others and if there is any defect tell us.
We, Maria and Carlos, have prepared everything with great enthusiasm and as we love to travel and know that when you're away from home, your property is your home, we hope that this corner is, to come a comfortable resting place and pretty.

We'll situated and peaceful property

We'll positioned for walking which we enjoyed. We liked the cosyness of the cottage and the stunning views from the balcony. Our hosts were incredibly helpful as we never had our own transport. We enjoyed the stay, and if we went to Lanzarote again would not hesitate in staying there.

Comfortable and charming house with many delightful features

Sitting on the outskirts of a quiet village in the north of Lanzarote, this charming little house has a lovely ambience, very private garden, comfortable beds and a wood burning stove for chilly evenings; it is often cool in the evenings and early mornings as Maguez is at 252m (825 feet above sea level), but this is very welcome on the very hot days! One of the great features of La Casa de Piedra is the way you can spread out - inside in the living area, outside in the garden or on the lovely terrace on the first floor. The terrace is a great place to have breakfast or a sundowner. The kitchen is adequately equipped and we were able to produce some delicious dinners - there's a gas hob and microwave - and there's constant hot water from the calor gas water heater. There is a lovely little hill right by the house - we walked up it several times and it is a particularly pleasant outing in the early morning or late afternoon. We also climbed Montaña de los Helechos - a two hour outing from the house. Although in the far north of the island, Maguez is no more than 45 minutes drive from the volcano and barranco walking in central and south west Lanzarote. We loved Haria, especially on market day, and Arrieta, Orzola and Teguise are within easy reach. The bars in Maguez are friendly places with good beer and interesting local wines and we had a lovely, very cheap meal in the Sociedad. Maria and Carlos are extremely welcoming and friendly and if you like being independent and away from the crowds, we recommend La Casa de Piedra!

Comfortable and well equipped

The lift from the airport was much appreciated. Village is very rural which we liked. Good walks and cycling from property, although fairly demanding. Property is at 1000ft elevation, so not as warm as at the beach. A small shop and 2 bars within a walk. Wonderful rooftop terrace and small garden.

Casa "El Barco der Piedra"

Ein wunderschönes Häuschen abseits vom Tourismus in einer sehr schönen Gegend. Alles vorhanden was man benötigt. Die Vermieter sind ganz reizend und haben alles was man zum Frühstück benötigt besorgt. Hier kommen wir gerne wieder zurück.
