About the property

2 bedroom apartment right on the front, in the heart of town.

The Garden Flat is ideally located for a beach break: you can roll out of bed onto Viking Bay,but it is dangerously close to Morelli's ice cream parlour! The spacious two-bedroom flat sleeps four comfortably, seven at a squeeze(a double bed, a bunk, single sofa bed and double sofa bed). This versatility makes it suitable for parties from couples through to extended family groups.

The flat boasts a charming blend of antique and modern furnishings, from armchairs and sofa to side table and chest of drawers.It is tastefully decorated throughout. Both bedrooms are carpeted, with the open plan kitchen-diner benefitting from wooden flooring. The double bedroom houses a deep fitted wardrobe with ample hanging space and snug shelving.

The beautifully refurbished bathroom has a walk-in shower, separate bath, sink and WC. For guests in winter, there is underfloor heating. There is an additional WC in the hall.

The modern kitchen is well equipped, with hob, cooker, fridge/freezer, sink/drainer, microwave, dishwasher, toaster and kettle . There is a full range of crockery and utensils.

Young and old will find plenty to delight themselves within the flat for those inevitable rainy days. From puzzles to games, books and journals to record player and records, we've got it covered. If all else fails, a new Panasonic TV, with Freesat and unlimited Wifi are available!

A utility room with washer/dryer, iron and ironing board are also provided should you need them.

On hot Summer evenings, there is a shaded, private courtyard garden with table and four chairs. Sit out, have a barbecue, read and relax. You could eat outside or have a cooling drink.

Prospective tenants must be aware that access to the flat is via metal stairs (14 treads). There is a hand rail, but those with mobility problems or in wheelchairs must consider carefully before booking. So too, those with children in pushchairs, must recognise that the stairs have to be negotiated.

About Tim Hewitt

After a very fulfilling 25 year teaching career, I decided that I wanted to do something even more satisfying: gardening. I set up a maintenance gardening company in the area I have always lived in, North East London. As part of that dream, we (my wife, Emma, and I) were lucky enough to be able to purchase The Garden Flat as a holiday let business.

Why Tim Hewitt chose Broadstairs

We had been coming to Broadstairs on holiday for five years and fell in love with the place. My mother went to school in Westgate and the area is just right for holidays and weekend breaks from London. When the flat became available, despite the huge amount of refurbishment needed, we knew that we had to give it a go and have not looked back since.

What makes this apartment unique

The location is the number one reason to love this flat. It could not be nearer to the beach without getting wet feet. The period property is also an attractive one.We love renovating furniture, antique fairs and car boot sales too. Much of the furniture and decor of the flat has been renovated by us. It acts as a place to keep a small portion of my vinyl record collection. As a gardener, I also relish the challenge of making the garden work!

Yards from the promenade !

It was a privilege to stay at this beautiful, recently refurbished spacious apartment with secluded garden area. The owner provided extensive details ahead of our trip, which included travel and accommodation guides through to 'rainy day' ideas.

Tastefully decorated with all essential facilities, plus much, much more...including nest temperature control throughout and under-floor heating in the main bathroom. The space and furnishings were more than adequate for our family of 5, with high quality bed linen and towels provided. The availability of a range of literature and music (on vinyl) for all ages and tastes were much appreciated.

Given its proximity to the local shops, restaurants and Viking Bay beach, everything you need is within a short walking distance. Whilst you need not venture too far away from the apartment, for those wishing to explore a little further, the owner provided an exhaustive run down of local attractions and places of interest. We are regular visitors to Broadstairs, however, the information supplied would be very useful to those unfamiliar with the town and locality.

Truly a home from home, we have returned from our visit researching dates to re-book. Highly recommend this wonderful holiday let.

lovely modern apartment with all amenities

We are regular day visitors to Broadstairs but don't usually stay overnight. It really made a difference to have that extra time available to explore areas we have never visited before and restaurants we have always been meaning to go to. The apartment was in a great location, very modern with everything in it you could have needed. The bottle of wine was a great surprise too. We walked on the cliffs past Dumpton Gap and found the Italianate Glasshouse tea room which I had read about but didn't know it was within walking distance, we ate in a couple of local restaurants including Harpers Wine Bar for a Sunday roast - this must be a hidden gem as it isn't advertised and it wasn't busy but the meal was great. We went to Ramsgate on Sunday morning for a walk around the harbour and had booked an 'escape room' experience. I would thoroughly recommend this for families with older children - our girls are 14 and 16 years old but it is suitable from age 10. We had an amazing weekend - we all agreed it was the best weekend away we had had in a long time - and can't wait to go back later this year or early next year. We prefer to visit out of season!

Comfortable property in a great location

Four wives/mums stayed for a mini break. Ideal property in a great central location. We had breakfast out and dinners in the local restaurants so didn't have reason to use the kitchen but it was modern and appeared to be well equipped. From the property you are on the beach within minutes and we took a nice stroll into Ramsgate. When back in Broadstairs we played crazy golf, had afternoon tea in a quaint little tea room, visited the amusement arcades and enjoyed the plethora of bars and eateries. When we weren't out exploring the area we were able to relax in the comfortable Garden Flat playing the boards games, enjoying the vinyl records and even attempted one of the owners jigsaws. Very pleasant weekend had by all.

A beautiful flat; the perfect location for getting 2 small children to the beach

The flat is wonderfully presented and very homely; we loved it!

Our (myself and wife) main priority was getting to the beach with two small children (1 and 3 years old) as quickly and painlessly as possible. The flat is ideally located for for this purpose.

Tim made everything exceptionally easy. We hope to come again next year!

Great location. Lovely, spacious and airy flat. Well equipped and very comfortable.

Flat was clean, spacious and airy. Very comfortable and really tastefully decorated. Well equipped, apart from essentials there were lots of 'extras' to make stay more enjoyable - good range of books, games and jigsaws. All in a great location in heart of Broadstairs.

The town is very well provided with a range of excellent restaurants and cafes to suit all budgets. The high street also has some interesting non-chain shops to browse.

Further afield the Tate Gallery, Shell Grotto and Dreamland in Margate are worth visiting. Manston has its own RAF Spitfire museum and the Hornby Railway museum is a short drive away too.
