CATHEDRAL VIEW HOUSE - IN MORE DETAIL
Cathedral View House is in the heart of the city within easy walking distance to all tourist attractions, huge choice of excellent shops, the famous Norwich market square, restaurants and bars.
If you don't already know Norwich then you will soon see this as an idyllic historic city with it's medieval city wall still on view, fabulous city walks, a huge variety of great things to do, hidden passages, river boat trips, lots of churches, history and plenty to do in the evening.
On top of this you can be in the countryside within minutes or on the beach in 30 minutes as Norfolk boasts some of the most picturesque coastal vistas and traditional resorts that the UK can offer.

CATHEDRAL STREET - is just off the main strip and next to everything you need to make your stay perfect. 30 yards away from Norwich Cathedral Close, food stores, bars and restaurants and a 5 minute walk from the main station. We are confident you will have a wonderful stay - all our many satisfied guests agree. On the odd occasion the busy streets can be a bit noisy but it is a city so I am assuming that a central location is just what you need.

Cathedral View House was built in the 1850's - 170 years ago and counting - with it's wonderful charms comes the wonderful original features that history brings - wooden sash windows that are single glazed, a quirky hallway, a steepish stairway (with an essential hand-rail), period features, a shower (sorry - not a bath), a door onto the street, a courtyard area and all the wonderful charms of a modern house. There is a small outside area which is shared with other houses - it is secluded and private with chairs and a table - there to enjoy a drink during the warmer months.
Please note that the stairs are a little steeper than average and therefore the house is unsuitable for guests who will struggle with stairs. Due to hygiene reasons we have been advised to ask parents to bring their own travel cots for infants who need them.

THE HOUSE - We guarantee the house will be pristinely presented and clean for the start of your stay. You will enjoy the cosy settings of a country styled self contained house whilst only being minutes from all the action that Norwich has to offer.

There are two good sized double bedrooms with cosy double beds (1 bedroom can have a single bed added on requested/if needed so we can accommodate 5 guests - 2 adults with 3 children), and we have a double or single air bed in the living room (on request too and you will pleased to know that it comes with an electric pump) so we can accommodate 6 guests, free unlimited Sky broadband and Wi-fi, 100 or so channels on FreeView TV.
There is a traditional style but still modern shower room and a kitchen which is fully equipped with all you need for self catering (electric ceramic hob, electric oven, microwave etc) and a tumble dryer, washing machine and dish washer to make life easy during your stay. We also have some choice novels/books/guides, some DVDs and board games for you during those down times.

We love to provide all our guests with as much information about the house and what to do as we can. We have collected a great selection of what's on guide, tourist leaflets and art/culture guides and calendars. We also provide a top tips guide to where to eat, where to go and places to see - we hope this is a great help to you. The info file also has lots of info about the house, which we also hope is useful. One thing to note - this house is a house which is purposely designed to cater for the holiday maker and is not where we live - Cathedral View House is presented to the highest level possible and we are sure you will have an excellent stay.

THE SHORT WALK FROM THE MAIN NORWICH TRAIN STATION - which links to all major UK routes - Is only a short walk (about 500 metres or so) up Prince of Wales Rd on the right hand side - Crossing the River over a bridge, passing places like The Compleat Angler pub, Kwik fit Tyres, Mercy Nightclub on your right until you come to Cathedral Street on your right - walk to the end and you will find Cathedral House at the end of the street (Black gloss painted door and grey brick exterior).

Please note - Cathedral View House is 170 years old. We have prepared it to allow it's vintage period charm to shine through. There are no carpet as all floors are painted and the doors are all stripped pine. There windows are original sash windows and are the usual charming style. The house has all the modern features you would hope for so that your stay is as comfortable as possible. Please expect the odd creaky floorboard or door or wind through the window - it adds to the charm.

For the few coming by bus or coach the main bus station is only about 1km away/15 mins walk.

CAR PARKING - is not free but very cheap.
There are options so please contact me for more details. There are some free on street parking about 1 mile away which do prove to be popular if you are on a budget. Rose Lane multi-storey car park (NR1 1PY) is minutes walk and is a secure 24/7 manned operation - most if not all guests park here - please ask for details on booking and this is subject to change.

NORWICH SHOPPING - you will simply have on your doorstep and within 5 minutes walk all you need and one of the best shopping experiences in the UK.
CASTLE MALL SHOPPING - 300 metres from the house with all the usual shops you would expect including Boots the Chemist.
CHAPELFIELDS SHOPPING MALL - 15+ min walk into the city with even better shops.
Main shopping areas are mostly pedestrianised so head for Tombland which is a 4 min walk and onto Queens St and London St and you are there.
St Benedicts and the Lanes of Pottergate - my favourite part where lots of local shops will give you one of the most eclectic and diverse shopping experiences.

CLOSE BY - there are 20 restaurants and great pubs within 5 mins walk of the house and over 100 within 10 mins walk from the house.

Norwich enjoys a mass of cultural attractions, excellent restaurants, several theatres, a castle, a 900 year old Cathedral which is literally on your doorstep and is set in the largest and most amazing Cathedral Closes' in the UK and not to mention one of the best shopping centres in Britain. Everything is within walking distance so you will be spoilt for choice.

Norfolk also has a wealth of amazing traditional coastal resorts which are only 30 minutes or so away by car and will be sure to keep you wooed and busy and of course easy by train.

WALKING - the river is only 5 mins away with wonderful walks and please do look up the infamous city walks for those who love historic buildings, churches and medieval splendour. We even have a great GHOST walk which is a must especially in the winter nights.

For those football lovers; Carrow road is but a short walk (1km) along the river and we welcome away supporters who want to stay.

If it's shopping then Norwich has a huge pedestrianised centre which includes the big chains but a wonderful selection of independent shops with a hugely eclectic air which caters for all tastes.
Norwich is famous for its huge number of beautiful churches which attract visitors from all over the country and world. Norwich Castle and it's wonderful museum is also only minutes away and we are certain a visit here will be perfect for those rainy days.

Let's not forget the amazing Norfolk Broads and famous traditional coastal resorts that spread along the East Anglian coast - you can be there by car in 25 minutes or more.
We are dog lovers and are happy to have you and your pet stay (terms and conditions do apply and we reserve the right to disallow this).

All the best
C:)

Please note - Due to hygiene reasons we are not able to offer a baby cot.

Lovely house, everything you need. Here to visit family. Visit to Norwich cathedral which is beautiful. Lovely Riverside walks. All the shops and places eat in city centre.

A near perfect visit to Norwich
The house and decor is charming, we discovered walking back one evening the surrounding area to be a little uncomfortable. This was easily remedied by taking an alternative route via the Cathedral area. The house on the surface was very well presented but the floor in the kitchen, and part of the bottom of the cooker looked like it needed a deep clean. Great spot if you are catching the train into Norwich. That said we loved the house, it’s location and Norwich.

Great house in the centre of Norwich
Great little place almost in the grounds of Norwich Cathedral. We used it mainly as a base for days out in Norfolk and Suffolk but also had a lovely wander around Norwich with the kids on a rainy day, visiting the Cathedral, food market and and shops. The property itself is clean, nicely decorated and well equipped with everything a family would need, including a reliable, high speed internet connection, washer, dryer etc. It is a typical smaller Victorian house with a steep and fairly narrow central staircase, but it was perfectly fine for two adults and three under tens. Less mobile visitors might struggle with getting up and down the stairs though. Being city centre, parking is restricted directly outside of the property however there is a multi storey 2-3 mins walk which cost us about £6 a day and always had plenty of spaces available. There's a Tesco Metro and Budgens just round the corner and a variety of other places to eat out. All in all, highly recommended either for a couple of days visiting Norwich or longer periods as a base for exploring further afield.

Great location
Great location - a couple of minutes walk to the area round the cathedral. The house is small but comfortable and makes the perfect base to explore Norwich. Parking at the nearby Rose Lane car park was convenient. Norwich itself is lovely and has a wide range of excellent restaurants.

Collette and I have travelled extensively and would love you to sample the delights of Norwich.
Collette and I have lived in this amazing city of Norwich for the past 24 years. Collette is an interior designer - I am sure you will soon be enjoying the fruits of her labour when you visit our beautiful centrally located town house. We are both pet lovers and would love to also invite you and your pet to stay as we both know how unbelievably difficult it is to take your beloved dog with you (conditions apply & unless agreed only 1 pet please)
We live nearby and would love you to come and sample the delights of this medieval, cultural and vibrant capital city of East Anglia.
Do get in touch to discuss your stay and to ask any questions you desire.

Why they chose this property

This country styled house will give you all you need to make you stay memorable. For the lazy moments there is a large flat screen TV with FreeView TV channels. The well equipped kitchen will enable you to cater for your stay and i am sure the power shower will take away the stresses and strains of a long walk through the city streets. The coffee machine will spark your day and you'll be able to knock up your culinary classics in our lovely kitchen diner. You are simply amongst the action in this house with city and river walks, city shopping, museums, Cathedral and it's Close, bars, Al Fresco dining and a great selection of nightlife, not to mention the numerous art galleries, theatres, cinemas and cultural attractions. You can even be in the countryside and next to the sea in less than 30 minutes by car.
There are 2 double bedrooms (one can be converted into a single with a double - on request) and the living room can also convert into a room with a single or double air bed. All the mod cons you desire - fast WiFi broadband, Microwave, washing machine and tumble dryer etc etc - surrounded by country-styled and vintage furniture.

What makes this property unique

Cathedral View House is literally in the centre of Norwich city - on your doorstep will be all you need to have a fantastic break with your friends and family. Norwich has lots of beautiful churches, great pubs, super restaurants, tonnes of culture, copious vibrancy, fun and stqacks of medieval streets not to mention some of the best shopping areas in the UK. If this is not enough then the Norfolk Broads and some of the best coastal resorts (not Gt Yarmouth I am afraid to say) are within 30 minutes drive. If you dont have a car then the main train station and bus station are 500 yards walk away.
