About the property

Sa Cova is a beautifully-restored 19th century finca with a private saltwater pool and terraced orchard, situated at the top end of the picturesque village of Fornalutx, Mallorca. Its idyllic location provides rural seclusion and privacy, yet it's only a five minute walk to a few well-known restaurants and the village square.

The finca's ground floor features a spacious entrance, cosy library, a modern and well-equipped eat-in kitchen, guest bathroom and laundry area.

The library’s shelves are stacked with a few guidebooks on local walking trails and cycling routes (in English and German), cookbooks, novels and magazines. There's a Jøtul wood-burning stove for winter evenings or throw open the French doors to let in the clean mountain air when the weather’s balmy and baking hot.

The four double bedrooms feature comfortable king size beds dressed in soft, white Egyptian cotton linen. Bedrooms 1 and 2 are situated on the first floor and share a bathroom. Bedroom 3 occupies the entire 2nd floor and has an en-suite bathroom. Bedroom 4 (the casita) is a separate guest cottage with an en-suite bathroom and it’s own private entrance. Floor-standing fans cool the bedrooms in summer and oil radiators heat them in winter.

Sa Cova’s outdoor terrace features a private saltwater pool (unheated), outdoor shower and dining area perfect for alfresco meals. The views are spectacular – dry-stone terraces, olive groves, citrus orchards and the Serra de Tramuntana (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), all set to the charming soundtrack of sheep collar bells jingling and the odd rooster crowing. Oranges, lemons, figs, dates, avocados, walnuts and pomegranates can be picked seasonally in the terraced orchard.

This beautifully conserved mountain village offers a lovely boutique, bakery, grocery store, ATM, chemist, hairdresser, a few bars, around 7 restaurants and a little ice cream shop. Fornalutx is now officially part of the 'Asociación de los Pueblos Más Bonitos de España' (Spain's Most Beautiful Villages Association) and is the only Balearic village to be included so far.

It's a 10 minute drive to Sóller and the beach in Port de Sóller, a 20 minute drive to Son Termes Golf Club and a 40 minute drive to Palma de Mallorca.

Things to note:

Children aged 8 years and older are welcome at Sa Cova.

Check-in is scheduled for 16h00 and check-out for 10h00.

All access to and on the property is via stairs and therefore not suitable for wheelchair access or guests with mobility issues.

Strictly no smoking.

No pets allowed.

Sa Cova is licensed under the Balearic Tourism Act.

Fantastic house in perfect location

Beautiful, traditional spanish house but with all the modern touches. Perfect location on edge of gorgeous village. Loved walking 5 minutes to the little square and bakery. Lovely restaurants with great views 2 minutes walk away. Woke to the sound of birdsong every morning, very quiet and peaceful.

Beautiful house and beautiful location.

Fantastic house for holiday for 3 generations. Youngest 21 and oldest 79, all of us loved the house and the surroundings. The house is so beautiful and clean, with good beds, linens, towels, the feeling of a luxurious hotel. Kitchen with all utilities and oranges and lemons in the garden to make juice of for breakfast. The city centre is right down the road with all you need, supermarket, bakery and good restaurants. We could not have had a better vacation. We are coming back, soon:)

Sa Cova Stay

Sa Cova is truly one of the MOST BEAUTIFUL holiday homes I have ever stayed in. The owners have decorated this stunning finca extremely tastefully and has taken the utmost care to provide their guests with high quality amenities and an experience packed with style.

I received a warm welcome by Vero, the caretaker, who had taken the initiative to light one of the cosy fireplaces for my arrival.

The experience was further enhanced by the delicious smell of orange blossoms from the finca's orchard.

I would definitely recommend a stay at Sa Cova for anyone who appreciates the finer touches - at this price it is an absolute steal.

Stunning property in an equally stunning location!

Our stay at Sa Cova completely exceeded our expectations on every level. From the moment we stepped down the path when we arrived to see the beautiful pool shimmering in the afternoon sunshine we felt at home. The outside dining area had the most stunning view of the Tramutana mountains and the house itself is elegant, stylish and equipped with everything you could need for a luxurious relaxing holiday in a truly spectacular location. The village of Fornalutx itself out of all the places we visited is by far the most beautiful even than Deia. Food wise special mention must go to Ca N' Antuna a few steps from our property for delicious good value food and Cafe Med for a really memorable birthday dinner worth every penny. We didn't want to leave - we will be back!

Perfekt bis ins kleinste Detail!!!

Wirklich ein Ort zum Wohlfühlen. Luxus, Ruhe und traumhafte Umgebung auf einer sonst doch teilweise recht vollen Insel. Wir haben die meiste Zeit unseres Urlaubs auf dem Anwesen und den Wanderwegen der Umgebung verbracht und uns wie zuhause gefühlt. Schon im Vorfeld hat sich Lizette besonders herzlich und hilfsbereit um unser Wohl bemüht. Service, Ausstattung und Gestaltung stellen selbst höchste Ansprüche voll zufrieden.
