10 out of ten

Helen's bungalow was every thing you could wish for in a pretty village.

We were blessed with sunshine and so could make the most of the Snowdonia scenery that was all around us.

I would recommend staying at the bungalow for a very restful holiday.

The perfect getaway.

  • 5 of 5

Firstly we were greeted by the owners who were very welcoming and friendly. They had recommended places where we could eat and visit.

The property is situated in a lovely, quiet village where it is easy to forget about the day to day hustle and bustle. We had dinner at the local pub which was delicious and we also had a few beautiful walks in and around Rowen.

The property was very clean and was well equipped. The owners had even gone to the efforts in making the property more than a guest home by putting home comforts in such as blankets on the couch.

Overal we had a lovely stay and didn't want to leave. We will definitely be returning to Gwynant Bach and have recommended the property to family and friends.

Thank you for a lovely stay.

Location

Car: recommended

On the doorstep, the award winning Ty Gwyn pub is only a minutes’ walk away from Gwynant Bach offering good food daily and traditional Welsh music and singing on a Friday night. The Conwy Water Gardens and Pancake House is also in the village and ideal for a spot of coarse fishing or food.

A short drive away from the cottage is Conwy with its magnificent medieval castle keeping a watchful eye over the town. Popular with tourist, Conwy not only has one of the country's most impressive castles, but it also has the Smallest House in Britain, and one of the worlds first suspension bridges. The 16th Century townhouse of Plas Mawr and Aberconwy House are also highlights, as well as the glorious beaches, shops, pubs, marina and Quay. For some adventure, water lovers will love Surf Snowdonia, and wildlife enthusiasts should pay Conwy RSPB nature reserve a visit (both ten minutes by car). Bodnant Gardens and Farm Shop is also just ten minutes away.

For those wishing to stretch their legs there are a multitude of walks and hikes throughout the area of Snowdonia. The smallest peak Tal-Y Fan is considered the start of the fourteen peak challenge, and with Rowen being nestled in the shadow of the mountain it is a good base to start your ascent. More sedentary walks are available in the village and throughout the Conwy Valley. Those seeking a little more adventure and an adrenaline rush should look no further than the Tree Top Adventures at Zip World Fforest, Bounce Below, Velocity Quarry Tour and Zip World - all within forty minutes or less of Gwynant Bach.

The seaside resort of Llandudno is also only fifteen minutes away by car and boasts a shopping centre, as well as a promenade for a stroll, pier and the Great Orme with its tram rides and copper mines.

Centrally located in North of Wales, Gwynant Bach is well placed for visiting the historic towns of Snowdonia, beautiful beaches, castles such as Caernarfon, Betws-Y-Coed, exploring the island of Anglesey, or simply relaxing and enjoy the abundance of outdoor adventures available on the doorstep - a perfect location for a weekend break or family holiday at any time of the year.
