Overview

About the property

Padgy Vessa is a reverse level home with huge windows bathing the living and dining area in the most exquisite St Ives light. From these windows you see Rosewall Hill and the heather covered moors beyond enticing you to don your walking boots and go explore. We guarantee you, on bright and clear days, the views from the top of Rosewall Hill are a sight to behold; follow the coast line as far as the eye can see from St Ives up towards the North Coast of Cornwall. The living and dining area of Padgy Vessa is comfortable, spacious and inviting (particularly when the open coal fire is lit). Appreciate the artwork adorning the walls, complete a puzzle, read a book or snooze away to the sounds of garden birds enjoying the Spring and Summer flora. Another bonus is being able to enjoy the warm morning sun from a balcony leading off the living area.

The kitchen is well equipped and leads out, via a few steps, onto a veranda with outdoor seating and a purpose built BBQ. The views from the veranda take in the rural and moorland views over to Rosewall and Trevalgan Hills and can be best enjoyed in late afternoon and evening sun. The kitchen has a dishwasher, washing machine, small tumble dryer, fridge/ freezer, electric oven and hob.

There is a double bedroom off the living area with large windows looking out across the countryside and moors. It has an en-suite shower room with shower, WC, bidet and wash basin. Also off the living area is an additional and separate WC. Downstairs there are a further two bedrooms, one is a double bedroom and the other is a single room with a truckle bed that pulls out to offer another single bed. There is family bathroom on this same floor with bath and shower over, WC and wash basin.

St Ives town centre with its shops, beaches, restaurants, galleries and true Cornish pubs is a 20 minute downhill walk away or why not take a bus to save the legs (bus stop approx. 350m from Padgy Vessa). Otherwise, if you fancy a scenic walk into town, a really pleasant 30 minute stroll takes in the coast path route reaching St Ives on the Porthmeor beach side. The nearest eatery to Padgy Vessa is the Halsetown Inn which is only a few minutes' drive away serving delicious locally sourced meat, poultry, dairy and vegetables. Enjoy spectacular coastal drives directly from the house West towards Zennor and Land's End or head a short way East to the beautiful beaches of Porthkidney Sands (dog-friendly all year round) and Gwithian Towans.

There is parking for two cars on the drive and plus there is a garden for your enjoyment. Up to 2 medium size, well-behaved and mannered dogs welcome (house rules apply). Padgy Vessa's owners live discreetly in an apartment at the back of the property and are happy to assist if you need anything during your stay otherwise they are keen to leave you have a pleasant and enjoyable holiday!

Included in your rental is bed linen, towels, WiFi, heating and electricity, first scuttle of coal. Not included is supply of beach towels, dog towels/ throws or dog crate/ beds so please be sure to bring your own.

Great property, great location, just outside of town but not too far away

  • 5 of 5

A lovely house in a good location. Out of the hustle and bustle of the town center but close enough to walk in. A local bus service stops at the end of the lane in case you don't fancy the walk. The owners are a lovely couple and very approachable. We had an issue with a curtain pole falling down and it was sorted the next day. The views are amazing from all directions. The rooftop terrace out of the kitchen lends to some stunning sunsets. The house is well equipped with lots of little extras. We used the windbreaker for the beach. Lots of games and dvd's should the weather take a turn for the worst. We really enjoyed our two weeks here and would not hesitate in booking this property again.

Wunderbare Aussischt, ruhig und komfortabel

  • 5 of 5
