About the property

This special 2 bed apartment is located in a self-contained position within the grounds of a typical Spanish holiday villa and has an amazingly large terrace with sea views, its own sun beds, patio for relaxing in the shade, traditional outdoor BBQ with table and seating and exclusive use of the private swimming pool. The apartment is licensed by the Junta de Andalucia under Licence Number VFT/MA/02129 for holiday rentals and meets all of the legal requirements under current legislation in Spain.

The villa is just a 5 minute walk to the beach and excellent restaurants along a pretty country path, yet the apartment offers a world away from the hustle and bustle of the Costa del Sol whilst still being within a very short drive or bus ride from the main tourist towns of Fuengirola and La Cala.

The apartment is fully equipped and has English television including all of the BBC and ITV channels. Air conditioning is provided and fiber optic internet access is available on a pay as you use basis, if required.

El Faro is best known locally for its iconic lighthouse and the soft golden sands of the beach are broken here and there with rock pools that draw children of all nationalities with nets and buckets and the desire to catch the biggest crab possible, making it an excellent option for lazy days in the sun. If you are feeling more energetic there are water parks, a zoo, safari parks, boat and fishing trips, golf courses, a myriad of water sports activities, amusement parks and much much more within a short drive.

Fully equipped kitchen with electric oven and gas hob, fridge freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee maker, washing machine, iron and ironing board.

Bath towels, hand towels and linen included. Property cleaned on arrival.

Lovely apartment near the sea

We stayed for 9 nights in August and were greeted by lovely couple Beverley and Dave. The apartment was bigger in my opinion than the photo's and felt comfortable and homely. A clean and tidy apartment in a quiet location with the sole use of the pool which was in a lovely spot by the side of the property. The owners provided a lovely welcome pack and provided information on local restaurants and attractions. El Faro is in my opinion, a quiet resort, with a few walkable restaurants and a 5 minute drive to lidl and aldi. Due to the property being close to the sea the heat was not as intense as we have previously experienced when staying further inland, due to the sea breeze, and we only used the aircon a couple of times during our stay. This made the experience so much nicer and now I would only consider properties near the coast. Loved the close proximity of the beach. The beachside restaurant had a bbq going everyday. Next door was a lovely fish restaurant too. I walked to fuengirola (a couple of miles) each morning along the coastal road (good path also used by joggers), a bit noisey but the views were worth it, however I wouldn't recommend the walk for young families due to the heavy traffic and noise. We had a hire car and used the garage at night, travelling to Ronda and the lakes. As we are holidaying without Children now I would still stay at this property even though its a 2 bed, due to the location, how quiet and private it was and the owners who were lovely. Location

Car: not necessary

If you are feeling energetic and want to do something more than just relaxing by the pool or on the beach there are water parks, a zoo, safari parks, boat and fishing trips, golf courses, tennis clubs, a myriad of water sports activities, amusement parks and much much more within a short drive from the apartment. A car is not essential to explore the many and varied towns in the Mijas Costa (our part of the Costa del Sol coastline) as busses run regularly between Fuengirola and Marbella, stopping every half an hour at El Faro.

The Costa del Sol is famous for its white washed villages and amazing scenery and the best way to explore inland Andalucía is therefore probably by car. There are however a good choice of coach trips that can be independently booked to visit the more popular tourist attractions such as Rhonda, Cordoba and Gibraltar.
