About the property

Superb location within easy walking distance of the city's numerous attractions

The front of the property overlooks the city walls and is perfectly placed in a central location only 4 minutes walk from York Minster and the historic city centre. The apartment is just around the corner from 14th century Monk Bar, the tallest and most elaborate of the 4 Bars of the city walls. The Grade 2 listed building was formerly the nurses quarters to the old city hospital and the first floor apartment is newly furnished and new to the holiday rental market. The apartment is to the rear of the property and shares a communal entrance hall and gardens. The bedroom has a king-sized bed fitted with crisp cotton sheets and the good sized wardrobe and bedside drawers should provide ample space. The lounge contains a comfortable sofa and large screen TV plus an attractive electric stove providing heat &/or a nice cosy glow to the room. There is also a small extending dining table and 2 chairs for the traveller who prefers a quiet, cosy meal away from the crowds after a busy days sightseeing. The kitchen is well equipped with electric oven and hob plus microwave, washer/dryer and fridge. The bathroom has a newly fitted over-the-bath shower and glass screen. Although a car wouldn't be needed due to the central location there is an allocated parking space suitable for a regular sized car. There are countless bars and restaurants in the popular Goodramgate area only 2 minutes walk away and Sainsburys supermarket is conveniently located to the rear of the property.

A Home Away from Home

My husband and I spent three wonderful days in York, and we were so fortunate to have chosen Bev's apartment for our stay. It was absolutely perfect for our needs! The apartment was spotlessly clean, the kitchen well-equipped, plenty of hot water, and the bed was so very comfortable. Another plus is that you have a designated parking spot. The apartment location is only a two minute walk to Monk Bar. Bev is a lovely lady and she was prompt in responding to my emails and patient in answering my questions. York is a beautiful city. Among other things, we took the volunteer guided walk and toured York Minster. We also took the York Brewery tour, and in hindsight we wished we had gone to the Railroad Museum instead. It would have been far more interesting. We dined at Little Italy on Goodramgate....excellent dinner....and ate the most delicious fish and chips at the Maltings. Be sure and have a beer at the House of the Trembling Madness on Stonegate. You must enter through the bottle shop at street level. The pub is upstairs and not easily seen from Stonegate. All in all we had a marvelous time. Thanks Bev for your hospitality, and we really enjoyed meeting you. We hope to return one day. Mike and Susan (Dallas, Texas)

The apartment is fantastic, beautiful inside and all the mod cons that you need for a comfortable stay, it's in a fantastic location near all the amenities eg pubs, bars, restaurants and local attractions, we will definitely be staying here again

Bev’s property was in the best location imaginable, a minute’s walk to the hustle and bustle of York. The property itself was immaculate and had everything we needed, including a much needed electric fire for the chilly evenings! We would definitely stay again.

Great location with parking

The owner Bev met us on arrival to familiarise us with the apartment. Parking spaces a little tight but car park was not busy during our stay. Convenient to the centre of York. Bev had kindly left us some milk and there were tea and coffee available. Sainsbury’s was just across the car park for any other supplies. A lovely quiet stay in a great location.

Perfect base for walking to all City of York attractions - Supermarket in the car park!

This was our second stay in Feversham House, the difference this time was that we had rented a 1-befroom apartment as opposed to a tiny studio two years ago. Each unit has an allocated parking space designed by a super-computer to leave at least 6 inches of space between vehicles and boundary walls. Forget the Hummer and rent a Fiat 500! seriously though most normal sized cars will be fine just a few extra 4-point turns may be needed to insert and extricate one's vehicle from the allotted space.

Daily food and other necessities of life are all available at Sainsbury's just across the parking lot behind the building. Monk Bar, the closest City Gate is two minutes round the corner and leads to the Minster and all the city center shops and attractions. The Best Western Monk Bar Hotel is even closer and has an excellent restaurant and bar for when you are too tired to self-cater. Cannot think of any better location for a visit to York.
