About the property

Delightfully converted barn set in the heart of West Cornwall.

The Cart Shed is at the end of a picturesque lane in a very quiet location. It has a bright open plan living area with a mezzanine for sleeping. It is a very cosy property with exposed beams, a walk in shower and wood burner as the main source of heat. Just two miles from Penzance, it overlooks Mount's Bay and is only 5 minutes from a choice of amenities including a choice of supermarkets. It has it's own parking and seating area.

The appeal of The Cart Shed is its transformation from a light and airy summer space to a cosy and snug property in the winter with its high spec insulation and roaring wood burner. It is a very simple, practical building with a great feel. Perfect for a stress-free escape.

What makes this barn unique

It is a very quiet location free from any light pollution with great views of the surrounding rural location and across Mounts Bay to the Lizard. It has been designed with energy efficiency in mind and so is reliant on the wood burner as the main heat source. There are detailed instructions for those who are less familiar with wood burners helping you to get the most out of it. It is also dog friendly for those enjoying the coastal walking.

Cozy and comfortable cottage!!!

Very helpful owner and spacious room

Cold when we arrived (in January!) but quickly warmed up with woodburner. Very good facilities. Very quiet -fantastic sky at night - down a narrow lane but pretty close to huge supermarket as well. Had a problem with the loo on the first night but the response was immediate and we were moved next door (larger). Only drawback might be the lack of Wi-Fi (although that has its plus side) and the bed as one partner has to climb over the other to get out!

Peaceful, Cosy Stay!

Beautiful barn conversion, lovely relaxing stay. I’d happily recommend. The owner was fantastic at responding. Once we got the log burner going it was a massive plus (very chilly when we first got there (of course expected in January though), possibly a nice touch to have the fire going before entry?) Very bumpy track to get to the property but once there, well worth it!! I’d happily recommend the Cart Shed & wouldn’t hesitate in returning. Thank you Sam.

Perfect Property in Quiet Setting

My wife and I loved our week-long stay at the Cart Shed in May 2017.

The property was as described, clean and perfect for our requirements, well equipped for self-catering and very spacious for a couple. With perfect weather for our stay, we enjoyed the light that streams into the home throughout the day.

Leaving the 'main road', the five-minute drive along a tight, hilly and twisty single-track lane to get the property, ensured total peace and quiet throughout our time... while still being close to all of the Cornish attractions that we wished to visit, as well as a number of supermarkets and other amenities.

Our communications with Sam both before and during our stay were very good and he was more than happy to lend advice on places to visit when required. We would certainly recommend this property to others and would be happy to stay again in the future.
