About the property

***new holiday let on the market from summer 2016***

Directly overlooking the sea with panoramic views of St Andrews bay, nestled between the Castle and Cathedral, in the heart of the old town of St Andrews. A short walk to the golf links and the world famous Old Course.

From your bedroom windows view all three beaches, the golf courses, the Castle and the Cathedral....

All photographs here are taken from the property!

thebeachhouse is a newly redeveloped townhouse with stunning open-plan living room and kitchen/diner with elevated penthouse views over St Andrews bay.

The property has been completely redeveloped externally and internally during 2016, and we're sure you'll love our rooms tastefully designed to complement the stunning sea views. The open plan 'manhattan loft' is our feature area - a first floor lounge and kitchen/diner which gives you elevated views from the Cathedral at the rear to the beaches and Castle out front.

We have three bedrooms (one double and two twins) which will sleep six people, three bath/shower rooms, and in addition a garden room/snug with a double sofa bed.

Please note, as our townhouse has an open plan middle floor, it is not possible to put stair-gates on for very young children.

From your doorstep walk around the many restaurants, cafes and bars of the bustling medieval Scottish coastal town of St Andrews. Visit the many attractions of the town, including golf courses, cycle tracks, beaches, leisure centre, parks, botanical gardens, theatre, and museums. Not to mention the distilleries and brewery!

The Beachhouse was perfect

  • 5 of 5

While considering our options for a golf trip, our group explored local hotels and stumbled upon The Beachhouse as a fantastic alternative at a fraction of the cost. The location (and views) were wonderful - and everything was within easy walking distance to the town. The house was very well equipped and beds were better than hotel quality. We were worried the house wouldn't live up to the listing photos - but it was better than advertised.

The owner, Ann, was responsive and provided local recommendations to help make the trip more enjoyable. If you are considering a stay in Saint Andrews - this house should be at the top of your list!

Perfect home for any get away in St. Andrews!

  • 5 of 5

We had the opportunity to stay at this lovely home while bringing my daughter to study at the University this fall. During our visit, which was just over 2 weeks, we had the most amazing time, and it was in part to the house, but also the hosts! Ann and Fraser couldn’t have been more helpful. From before our arrival until our departure, they were available to provide assistance, helpful hints and guidance when we needed it!

The home is 3 levels, with the main level being floor 2. The front overlooks the sea and the castle ruins, while the back boasts views of the cathedral ruins - both are spectacular. We constantly found ourselves grabbing our cameras to capture the ever changing beauty outside our windows! The bedrooms are very comfortable and have modern touches! The Kitchen is well equipped - whether you choose to cook in or enjoy take out - we did both! The television (for those times when you are just too exhausted to take another step) is a nice flatscreen that is wall mounted and has a wide selection of channels. But again, why would you watch TV?!? And since we were purchasing items in Scotland that required laundering - it was convenient to have a full size washer right there - and the drying racks worked perfectly!

St. Andrews is a small town - but there are boundless opportunities to engage in. Ann shared ideas that made our stay very memorable! From a spa day at the Old Course, to a theater trip down to London on the Caledonia Sleeper train, we were never out of opportunities to take in this wonderful city and be around the amazing people there! Again, we were there to deliver my daughter to University, but it was easy to forget as we were having so much fun!

There really isn’t enough I can say about this amazing property - or about the hosts. I’m already checking my calendar for the next opportunity I can find an excuse to “visit” my daughter and indulge in staying at this wonderful place! I am so grateful that the experience of transitioning to University was made so seamless and comfortable, by having such a lovely place to call home - if even for a little while. So I am eternally grateful and eager for our return!

Made to feel very welcome by the owner when we arrived. Everything was explained well so we didn't need to ask anything! Well equipped and very clean. Easy access to the town and coastal walks and fabulous views over the castle and sea to the sands beyond. We will definitely return.

Perfect St. Andrews home!

  • 5 of 5

We (My wife, 2 sons - 23 and 25 years old and I)stayed 9 days in this lovely home in St. Andrews. It is perfect. The views are great (ruins can be seen from both sides of the house and the ocean view is great from the living room)! The house is clean, nicely furnished, and the owners are very accommodating. The home is close to restaurants, grocery stores, coffee shops, the university, and the golf course. We drove to the Old Course to play only because we thought it might be easier but we could have walked there with no problem. The home is fantastic and does not disappoint. We enjoyed it very much! We will be back!
