About this property

Casa da Baia is the name of our / your home in Angra do Heroísmo.
It is a large 18th century building, rebuilt in 2001.
It is located in the historic city center, very close to the most important monuments of Angra.
It overlooks Angra Bay and Pipas Port, once a key stopover for the caravels and galleons on the Discovery route. Today you will find a modern marina and a sandy beach within a few steps.
Quiet and friendly neighborhood.
We are flexible on check-in and check-out times, but for cleaning and maintenance purposes, check-in will usually be at 16:00 and check-out at 12:00. In your contact we thank you to inform us the details of your flights, with arrival and departure times, so that we can adjust to your schedules.
During your stay we will be contactable every day from 9h00 to 19h00.
This house can comfortably accommodate 6 people.

Beautiful house in fantastic location!

I stayed here with my husband and 11 year old daughter for 4 nights, we arrived late on a Saturday night and was met by Candido who was lovely and despite it being late showed us around the house and was very helpful. The house is beautifully decorated, very modern and spotlessly clean, the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you would need, the beds are very comfortable and the master bedroom overlooks the beach, it's amazing to go to sleep and wake up to the sound of the waves! The Wi-Fi is good and the TV has lots of English channels. It was lovely to sit on the roof terrace for breakfast or later in the day and enjoy the views. There are lots of cafes and restaurants close by. We had an amazing time staying in Antonio and Candido's house and would not hesitate to book again if we come back, thank you!!

Travelers Beware

The location is noisy on summer evenings due to its location above a beach bar and popular beach. Kitchen vent and three of the four gas burners were not operating properly. Many of the light in the home were burned out. Without opening the windows there is no air circulation (no fans or central air). Keeping the windows open, which is necessary given summer humidity and temperatures, increases street noise in the house. The king bed is terribly uncomfortable, so we ended up purchasing mattress toppers and additional pillows for the property. We also purchased a fan to move air around the house when shutting windows for passing rain storms. Dining room chairs are deteriorating, their pleather coating was crumbling off onto clothing and all over the floor. When we arrived the propane was empty and there was no hot water. The host we interacted with did come to the property and resolved the hot water issue and was kind enough to help locate parking. Overall, interactions with the host we met were pleasant but felt misleading following completion of our visit. Despite reaching out to the host for guidance on how to complete check out, we were given little guidance other than to leave the keys on the counter and mailbox and not to worry about clean up. We still tidied up and removed trash. After completing the visit the host commented negatively about our stay and falsely claimed damages against us. Recommend damage protection and avoidance of this property.

Beautifully appointed home in the heart of a lively neighborhood

We stayed a week and enjoyed exploring the island. The host is very friendly and so helpful. The house is located steps from the beach, restaurants, and a lively nighttime scene. As hikers, we really appreciated having the washing machine and dryer!

Beautiful Home in the heart of Angra

Our family of four had a wonderful stay at this property. Candido welcomed us as if we were friends for years and was always available if needed. The home is well appointed and renovated and the view is breathtaking. walking distance to restaurants, stores, grocery and coffee shops.
