About the property

2 bedroom chalet a few steps from a long sandy beach!

A nautical themed chalet which is well furnished and equipped. This is an end of terrace chalet with a patio area to the side for sunny lunches. The chalet is on a holiday park just a short stroll from the lovely sandy beach at Freshwater East. The accommodation consists of an open plan lounge/dining/kitchen. There is a TV with Free-sat, and an equipped kitchen with a new electric hob, oven, and dishwasher. There is also a fridge & microwave. Bedroom 1 has a double bed and Bedroom 2 has two 3ft single beds and a wardrobe. The beds will be made up on arrival with fresh linen and duvets. There is a bathroom with a bath and a shower over. There is allocated parking. We can be flexible on dates and length of stay in some circumstances, please do not hesitate to make an enquiry.

Why The Owner chose Freshwater East

We chose Stella Marina as he is located at the beach end of the park and the views from the 1st bedroom and sitting room are across to the hills. In the 2nd bedroom there are two 3ft single beds (not bunks) and there is also a side patio for sunny lunches.

What makes this chalet unique

You are at the beach in a couple of minutes and as soon as you hear the sea and feel the sand between your toes all your worries melt away. The kids love to run free on the safe sandy beach.

Number 32 "Nautical but Nice": A holiday to remember.

We enjoyed our stay at number 32 "nautical but nice" . The accommodation more than met our expectations, having read good reviews on line prior to booking. It was clean, tidy and comfortable with all mod cons. We spent the October '17 half term week walking on some of the beautiful and stunning Pembrokeshire coastline. We recommend Stackpole Quay (N. Trust) nearby for the Bosherton Lilly Ponds; Barafundle and Broad Haven beaches. Tenby, (a short distance away) is an interesting seaside town with its own beaches and the chance to visit Caldy Island by boat, (which proved to be an excellent day out). Pembroke castle nearby, (which is mostly intact), is also recommended . We also went to Martins Haven and Marlowe (N.Trust) which also has some stunning coastline views. This was certainly a holiday to remember.

Very well presented & in good location.

A lovely chalet close to beach. Very well looked after. Bottom step of stairs collapsed at one point but nothing serious! Friendly neighbours as well & good parking. Thoroughly recommended though interior space a little tight.

Charming little chalet in good location

We really enjoyed our stay here. It’s only small but it had everything we needed, was clean, and well looked after. Kitchen utensils & appliances were good quality and seemed new. Emails from the owners prior to arrival were helpful and they continued to check we were ok whilst there too. Holiday park is very close to the beach and near to the lovely Barrufundle Bay and Green Bridge of Wales. My first time to South Wales and hopefully will be back someday. Even in the middle of winter it’s a lovely place. Would definitely recommend staying at Stella Marina!

For info puffins arrive on Skomer Island from May and stay until July and they are an amazing sight, there are so many of them they run across the path in front of you!

Very damp cottage

On arriving for a 2 week stay the cottage stank of damp. Despite using the heating and ventilating a lot over the 2 weeks the smell of damp was still strong on the day we left and all of my clothes had taken on the smell.

The 2 bedrooms do not have any wardrobe space at all so you have to live out of a suitcase.

The only available WiFi at the cottage is a very slow BT Open network which drops out intermittantly and costs over a fiver each day.

The next door neighbour parked his car directly at the bottom of the steps to the cottage blocking them completely. This forced us to scramble up the grassy 45 degree slope. When the grass was wet this was definately a health and safety risk and not to be recommended for anyone who is not very agile and sure of their footing.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your feedback we are very sorry that you did not enjoy your 2 week Autumn stay. We continually try to do our very best for all of our guests as reflected by all our 5 star reviews especially those immediately before and after this one. We arrived to service the chalet shortly after "check out" and there wasn't a car parked at the bottom of our steps (or any of the other steps which could have been used - see pic), and we were not aware of any issues with damp. As you will appreciate it is very difficult to investigate and remedy any guest concerns if they are not reported at the time. Stella Marina is our holiday home and we do not want anything to be wrong with it. Regarding the wardrobe space, the twin room has a double wardrobe with drawers (see pic) and the double room has a cupboard with hanging space, all the chalets are the same. We do not advertise the chalet with wifi. However, Wifi can be accessed through the Freshwater Community wireless at £6.99 a week, or the BT Hub. The BT hub is free to broadband customers, and the service is usually fine but it may have been affected by storm Ophelia & Brian which brought gusts of wind and heavy rain.

Stunning Coastal Scenery

There are ample scenic delights for walkers and nature lovers along the rugged Pembrokeshire Coastal Path, which National Geographic describes as "one of the most scenic hiking paths in Europe". There are puffins at Skomer Island best seen between May and early July, seal pups at Marloes (August to December) and wild otters at the Bosherton lily ponds (best time October to December) and dolphins (all summer long) spotted at Stackpole Quay. There are other interesting attractions such as the well-preserved mediaeval ruins of Lamphey Bishop's Palace, and castles are in abundance with 51 strongholds and romantic ruins. Pembroke Castle, has a fascinating history, towers, passageways, exhibitions, 80-foot-high keep, dungeon and pre-historic cave providing hours of exploring fun. The ancient walled seaside town of Tenby (15 minutes by car), and its famous, picturesque harbour, is a profusion of multi-colour houses, attractive sandy beaches and hilltop views overlooking Caldey Island, which you can visit by boat.

The Longhouse is a bar/cafe/shop facility at the front of the holiday village with seasonal opening hours. The Longhouse also puts on events and offers diving, mountain bike, kayak, stand-up-paddle board and wet suit hire.

There is also plenty for the whole family to enjoy in the surrounding area
