North Parade Avenue is a fascinating street a short walk from the centre of Oxford. It has 2 pubs, several restaurants, a deli and convenience store. It is only 1/2 a mile to the cosmopolitan area of Jericho with its numerous restaurants and bars and less than a mile into the centre of Oxford. It's an easy walk or there are plenty of buses. North Parade Avenue was described by James Curl in his 1977 book as the "most interesting street in Oxford" we think it still is!!

We lived overseas for 10 years and always rented a holiday cottage when returning to the UK. Having seen at first hand the variable quality of some properties available to rent we decided to furnish our properties in the way we would like our ideal holiday property to be. Both flats have comfortable Hypnos beds and mattresses, luxurious 400 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets, goose down quilts and pillows, White Company toiletries, sumptuous Duresta sofas and top quality Meile/Bosch appliances in the kitchen.
Alan Plater purchased this apartment in 2016
Originally part of an old dairy 5a has been renovated to provide a luxury 2 bedroom flat situated in what was described by James Curl in his 1977 book as "the most interesting street in Oxford". It is the perfect place from which to explore the beautiful City of Oxford. Home to the oldest university in the English- speaking world and known as "the city of dreaming spires" after the stunning architecture of the university buildings. Oxford is also close to the rolling hills of the cotswolds, the world heritage site of Blenheim Palace in Woodstock, the visually stunning cotswold village of Burford and the renowned outlet shopping centre at Bicester village.
Jean-Marie
We spent 3 nights in this beautiful apartment in Oxford. Checking in was as simple as entering a code on the door lock. The apartment was stocked with coffee, shampoo and laundry detergent. The old narrow street it is on is unique. Cafe's, pubs, grocery store just outside the front door.
Excellent location about 20 minutes walk from the centre of Oxford.
The apartment was incredibly well equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, nespresso coffee maker, modern tv, board games and even a chess board!
We're a family of 4 with 2 children aged 7 and 9 and the 2 double beds were the most comfortable we've stayed in away from our own home.
I'd thoroughly recommend.
The pictures don't even do it justice, this place felt like home the moment we walked in. It was more spacious than we had anticipated, and there were so many thoughtful touches that blew us away, like tea & coffee, luxury bedding and linens, soaps and lotion, games, super comfy couch. We are a family of 4 (two couples) and felt very much at home and not cramped at all. Perfect location for our visit to Oxford, walking distance to many of the colleges and downtown, as well as cute stores in Summertown. Would suggest stocking a couple of umbrellas, we were not prepared for the rain!
Alan and his wife were attentive and accommodating, making us feel well taken care of. Would love to stay here again, and highly recommend it!!
My niece and I had the great pleasure to stay in this wonderful Oxford flat on the sweetest of streets. The pictures do not do it justice. It is new, spotless, with high quality finishes and appliances. There is a long hallway off of the private entrance stairs, separating the two bedrooms. There is good lighting, cheery bright dishes, lovely bath products and multiple coffee and tea options. The street is just adorable, provides everything that you might need, is away from the hustle and bustle of downtown and yet a short stroll to all that Oxford has to offer. We had two satisfying meals at the cozy Rose and Crown pub across the street. We were utterly charmed by the colored lights that criss cross the tiny street in the evening. Although there is a shop downstairs of the flat, both bedrooms were very quiet. The beds were fluffy and so comfortable! The linens are all excellent quality. We were pleased to find a box of Belgium biscuits and milk in the fridge. Parking was not a problem because we paid an extra £10 for a residential parking permit--although depending on what day you arrive, you might be able to find free parking. Our only regret is that we did not get to spend more time in the flat, cooking and enjoying the charming rear patio.
The apartment was perfect for our weekend visit to Oxford. It had everything we needed and was well designed, comfortable and clean. The location was great. The centre was within walking distance and plenty of good quality shops, restaurants and pubs in the locality. The street itself is charming and has everything anyone would need for a short stay.
