The cottages at a glance:

- Carefully appointed with dark wooden beams, combining modern comfort with rustic elegance

- Each room includes its own unique feature, such as claw-foot bathtubs, ivory sheepskin rugs and Feather and Black mattresses and duvets

- Included in every room is luxurious handmade toiletries and a complimentary tea and coffee tray

The two cottages:

- A spacious split level three-bedroom cottage

- Two double bedrooms with king-size beds and one twin room, which can be converted to a double

- Sitting room, dining area and fully fitted kitchen

- Two-bedroom split-level family cottage

- One double bedroom with a king-size bed and one twin room, which can be converted to a double

- Sitting room, dining area and fully fitted kitchen

The cottage is dog friendly and dog beds, treats and even Snuffle Dog Beer are available upon request.

The King’s Arms next door is famed for its exquisite cuisine made from locally-sourced ingredients, as well as its extensive wine and drink lists. There's also a large garden which makes a great spot for a cool drink or al fresco dining in the sunshine, with an outdoor pizza oven serving up fresh wood fired on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays during the summer. Inside menus are chalked up daily on blackboards and there's a huge log fire that you can snuggle up by during the winter months. Breakfast, lunch or dinner at The King’s Arms can be organised during your stay.

The Cotswolds offers a stunning slice of English countryside; a popular holiday destination offering dramatic scenery as well as activities including rambling, cycling and horse riding. Visitors can also head over to the nearby Lady’s Wood Shooting School for a spot of clay pigeon shooting Castle Combe for motor racing.

Whether you’re seeking activities, relaxation or exploration, Saracen and Bobtail cottages are the perfect places to escape to. Both cottages are suitable for friends and family holidays, corporate away days and shooting parties.

Lovely country cottage

  • 4 of 5

We booked the Saracens cottage for Christmas, my husband and I plus both our Mum’s.

On arrival we had a lovely welcome and was able to get in before the check in time.

The cottage was very clean, all the facilities and amenities were great.

Just a couple of things, the cottage is quite dark, which was fine, but I think it is therefore more important that there is plenty of lighting and also that they all work, ie. in the master bedroom, the quirky wardrobe is set behind the headboard area, but there was no lighting at all! Also the ensuite to the master bedroom was a bit tired looking and the temperature in the shower was only controllable at one temperature, hot, so not very relaxing.

All in all though, a lovely cottage and friendly people.

Thanks for a great Christmas!
