House with a Calm and Enchanting View

  • 4 of 5

Owners were extremely hospitable. We needed the bed arrangement for 3, reset to two doubles instead of one double and one twin. This was done quickly and with no interruption to our stay. We came to the house by the "back way" on a "cow path" (and……. over the one lane bridge that sits beautifully in the front of the house) from the main road out of Cork, but it did add …. adventure and excitement to our arrival!

The house is well kept up, the kitchen large and the bedrooms smaller, following the time-period of the house's construction. The sunroom was very nice... sitting up there in the sun was very calming. Perfect location for a good book.

It was easy to get into the town of Kenmare and easy access to the Ring of Kerry. We booked a private tour of the Ring... it was wonderful!... Had several lovely meals in Kenmare and visited the Pubs in town.

The house is a good location for exploring the area. Note that there is no clothes dryer.... but the sunroom is very effective for that need. Follow the directions given carefully. Don't trust the maps or GPS to get you to the house from Cork... You will find yourself saying "Hi".... to goats, cows, and sheep ....who gaze at you in disbelief!
