4 bed farm house, 2 bathrooms, stunning views onto weir and countryside

Ideal 4 bed farm house situated in the Somerset countryside. 1 acre of land, large House with 3 bedrooms on the top floor and 1 teenage den/4th bedroom on ground floor to accommodate 1. 3 bedrooms consist of 1 double with en suite bathroom, 1 twin or double and 1 double. 2 large gardens front and back leading to fenced weir and stables leading to paddock (occupied with sheep). Stunning views onto fields and farms far and beyond with a willow tree at the bottom of the garden. Extended wifi has been installed and sophisticated Audio Visual allows TV's in sitting room and teenage den to access apple and netflix accounts. Ipad in kitchen control Farm House spotify in kitchen allowing as much music choices as you wish, this extends to dining room and outside garden speakers (kept to a minimum). The house is in a quiet area of farmland with a Red barn farm shop only 40 yards away ! Quiet walks are through farm fields and a 'day on the farm' or half day is offered to guests on one of the farms at a special rate. 10 minutes from the A303 and Sherborne, also 45 minutes from Bath, Jurassic coast and Stonehenge, you are on the border of Dorset so can enjoy access to all the west and coast. If you want a peaceful holiday and not want to travel far away then this is the place. There is plenty of land and the Farm House is large to accommodate 7 adults plus children. There is accommodation for horses with two stables and a pony stable.

Why jeremy mulford chose South Somerset

I loved this property as it was in a quiet part of Somerset yet close to Yeovil and Sherborne. We had never been to Somerset until we purchased this place and found the people and the farming community to be the most hospitable people we had ever met.

What makes this house unique

We loved the cottage especially as all thatched cottages were darker yet this offered a much brighter house. Also the views, space, garden and paddock that came with it (now let out to a sheep farmer).

Great walks, smart gastrop pubs and a local Farm shop 40 yards away. An agreement with the farmer to have a day on the farm - go into the farm shop and enquire as the options available depend on the season.

Really impressive property. Full of charm and character. Rooms were large and well presented

We went here for my mum's 70th birthday. We weren't disappointed as the cottage was an excellent choice. The bedrooms were all of a very good size, and even the downstairs room for my nephew was of ample size.

We were greeted by Trevor from the housekeeping company who gave us the guided tour, and we helped him assemble the new table tennis table in the games room, which we enjoyed along with some darts and a few beers over the weekend.

We made up the badminton net on the lawn, and the dog had the run of the grounds, which were really well maintained.

On the Friday night we had a BBQ and on Saturday we went out to the local pub - the half moon, for dinner and a pint of black rat cider!!

The local area was good for a walk around the country roads on the Saturday afternoon, and the icing on the cake was that we booked the same weekend as the Yeovilton air show, so got to enjoy the red arrows from the back garden!

All in all a really good weekend, and would recommend to anyone.

Lovely spacious cottage in really nice grounds

Plenty of space for 7 of us for a couple of nights. We all liked the accommodation and well equipped rooms. Large gardens for our dogs. Very nice quiet area. Nice welcome from Christine the owners agent. Would book again if visiting this area of the country.

Beautiful House in wonderful location

Fabulously large house with an amazing garden and wonderful views...garden would benefit from some proper sun loungers as we found sitting on chairs when trying to sunbathe uncomfortable...huge garden plenty of room for recliners and possibly a garden hammock. All in all a lovely week .

Excellent property

3 couples and one child, all amenities you would want and need within the property with great outside space and bbq, with sonos throughout including in the garden which was a great touch.

Large dining room and lounge was perfect.

We will be back!

A Week in Beauty

We came all the way from California and from the moment we drove up to the house we were struck by the beauty around us. The house is historically old (which adds to its charm) but full of great modern amenities. The kitchen is so fun to cook in and the backyard is so pleasant for evening meals. Convenient location. Loved shopping for fresh produce at the farm down the street and loved the pub within walking distance. We would recommend this home to anyone looking to have a quiet week in the countryside!!

A shepherd does turn up in the evenings to attend to the sheep that are on the paddock belonging to the owner, Kristian will be happy to take children as long as accompanied by an adult.
