Great Country Getaway for a large group

  • 5 of 5

We had an excellent time here over New Years. Plenty of activities and a great space. We ordered a Tesco delivery for the day we arrived which was a great idea. The owners were extremely helpful. The living area is pretty tight for 20 people but if you're spending most of your time outdoors it shouldn't matter too much! I would definitely recommend.

Fantastic Service

  • 5 of 5

Although we sadly needed to cancel our stay due to family illness before the day, the team at Harthill were very understanding and friendly throughout. While booking they really went above and beyond to help as I knew little about the area and they were able to help me with taxi's for a large group, activities and local knowledge. I came to visit the property and it really is kept in great shape. I'm honestly hoping to come back here in the near future and enjoy the beautiful scenery and Harthill will be my first choice.

Also, great dogs.

A practical beautiful property set amongst a stunning backdrop.

  • 5 of 5

Thank you for a lovely stay, everyone had a great time with some enjoying the active side of the holiday whilst others took the time out to relax in the beautiful surroundings. Rob was very helpful and always on hand to help with car parking, directions, essential baby equipment etc. Nothing was too much trouble. The chef cooked in house for us - tasty food and good value too. We chose to do rock climbing and abseiling and it was brilliant to have it all arranged for us - if you choose to drive yourselves take plenty of change for the car park. The actual climbing was pitched at just the right level, everyone was challenged and had fun too.

One thing we would have liked was blinds on the windows in the bedrooms and a bit of privacy in the showers - 2 open showers in each bathroom.

Overall a thoroughly enjoyable weekend in a great place that I would certainly recommend to others and I would love to return and try out some of the other activitites one day. Thank you!

Perfect bunkhouse and amazing hosts!

  • 5 of 5

The bunkhouse was perfect for our stay. With bunk style bedrooms and a large kitchen/dining area, Harthill Grange Bunkhouse is great for getting a big gathering together -

it has a lovely garden with amazing views into the Wye valley too. Great access to Cardiff, Bristol, the Wye valley and even the Brecons after a bit of a drive.

Our hosts were amazing in helping us sort activities (there is plenty on offer nearby) and food for the weekend which was awesome. Thanks guys for a fantastic weekend!

Perfect for groups of any size

  • 5 of 5

I thought I was looking for the impossible: a venue and activity to cater for a very mixed stag do (including boys and girls). Harthill Grange and the lovely Claire and Rob delivered in spades. We were welcomed with a cracking meal and dumped bags in spotlessly clean bunk rooms.

After a social evening, we were on the water the next morning with Rob and Lawrence who shepherded our group from Monmouth to Brockwier. It was then all back to the bunk house for fantastically hot showers before heading out for an evening meal.

This is a superb venue for larger groups with easy access to beautiful country walks and activities that your hosts will happily organise for you including mountain biking, climbing, canoeing (our choice) and archery amongst others.

What stands out is the care shown by our hosts over the weekend and their relaxed style which made the whole thing so very enjoyable. Can't recommend it enough.

Great place for a big weekend.

  • 5 of 5

We had a great weekend at the bunkhouse. We arrived to find Claire had decorated with balloons and Prosecco, we were celebrating my Husbands 50th birthday. We actually live in Australia now so I was communicating with Claire online. Claire booked our Taxi for Saturday evening and was very patient with my many questions. We also did Archery with Adults and children on Saturday morning with Rob. It was fantastic he was a great Teacher and very calm with all of us. We even won prizes. The parking is being worked on and that was the only slight hassle. I would highly recommend this accommodation to a big group, it was clean and cozy. Claire and Rob were very friendly and helpful and they have the cutest baby this side of Symonds Yat.

thanks for a great weekend it was a big one that we will always remember.
