Main house sleeps 12, with accommodation for six more guests in stable block

The Manor is a spacious, comfortable, detached Victorian house with a large conservatory. It contains six bedrooms, all with their own bathroom. The cosy kitchen, with an Aga, is well equipped and ideal as self catering accommodation for a large party. The property also contains a more formal dining room which can comfortably seat up to 18 guests and the elegant, airy lounge contains a log fire and lots of comfy seating.

The conservatory opens out onto a large patio area with a small lawn beyond, with plenty of garden furniture and a barbecue adjacent to well stocked flower beds and small paths in the courtyard.

This dog friendly house is available for most of the year.

The Molland Estate is privately owned and has been in the Throckmorton family for many generations.

Why Estate Office, Molland chose Molland

The property is situated on the edge of the small friendly hamlet of Molland, tucked amidst the yet unspoiled lush green countryside and woodland of North Devon.

Although off the beaten track, with barely any traffic, Molland is near to towns, the coast and many other attractions. It is perfect for walking, cycling and riding, with the open expanse of Exmoor just above the hamlet.

The village pub, the London Inn, a traditional country hostelry and Grade II listed building is run by Stuart and his wife, Claire, offering good food and wine at reasonable prices, not forgetting their hospitable welcome. It is also just a short walk uphill from the Manor! Stuart and Claire will consider catering at the Manor for special occasions. This cost would be additional to accommodation and would have to be arranged privately.

The nearest town for shopping is South Molton, some eight miles away (farmers market on a Thursday and Saturday), with the larger towns of Tiverton (20 miles) and Barnstaple (19 miles) not too far distant. Farmers market day in Barnstaple is on a Friday. The quaint country town of Dulverton (nine miles) is reached via a splendid scenic drive across Exmoor itself.

The beautiful North Devon coast is an hour away at Saunton Sands (28 miles), loved by golfers and the massive, sandy, beach of Woolacombe Beach (33 miles), and an hour away is a popular venue for surfers.

Check-in time is 4.00pm on a Friday. Check-out time is 10.00am the following Friday.

Beautiful views, lovely property, perfect for a large group

Fabulous manor house, has everything you need to make your stay comfortable. 13 of us plus dogs. Stunning scenery, great location, far enough away from the hustle and bustle, but near enough to get to places. Will definitely look forward to coming back. Thank you.

Large country house in idyllic setting, 2 minutes to pub

Been to Molland before lovely house in beautiful surroundings,the only sound is occasional tractor passing but lots of bleating as plenty of lambs in fields around, we had great weather blue skies and sunshine.

We (17 of us +3 dogs) like this house as every room has its own bathroom, large lounge with open fire, plenty of logs, and spacious dining room and kitchen for people to eat, socialise and cook.

This is our 4th time at Molland and I'm sure we will return,we did find a few little problems in the house but there is help at the end of the phone and at the end of the drive!

DIRECTIONS TO THE MOLLAND ESTATE

M5 MOTORWAY FROM LONDON, EXETER OR BRISTOL

Take Exit 27 from the M5 motorway (from Exeter) to large roundabout and take the turn onto the A361 towards Tiverton and South Molton.

Continue for about 14 miles until you reach the Molland turn-off to your left. As an added guide, the turning is at the bottom of a long hill, just before the South Molton roundabout.

After turning left, follow the winding road to a small roundabout. Go straight across.

Less than a mile ahead you will see a crossroads sign. Take a left. You are now on the Molland road. Follow the road, without taking any turn-offs until you come to the Molland Village sign on your left. This will take about 5 – 7 minutes.

Take the first left after the Molland Village sign and immediately turn right, across the cattle grid. You are now on the drive down to the Manor.
