There are several well-loved brand stores in Fowey (Sea Salt, Joules, Fat Face, and Mountain Warehouse) but its real charm lies with the wide range of boutique, unique and independent shops. Spend hours browsing them for clothes, homewares, crafts, glassware, art, antiques, books, seaside knick-knacks, traditional children toys and don't forget the old fashioned sweet shop!

There are also several bakeries and the fabulous Kittows deli. With two local stores, there may be no supermarket in Fowey, but you'll still find everything you need here. And all the major supermarkets will deliver online shopping as well.

In the centre of Fowey there is also a sweet little aquarium, and a local museum – both are worth a peek! Fowey has a 14th church and a 15th century castle fort.

There are a variety of activities on the water, ranging from organised boat trips to canoe hire.

The closest permanent is Ready Money Cove, which has clean sands and is perfect for swimming.

There is also a tidal sea-pool hidden away at the Whitehouse Pier! Within a five-ten minute drive, you can be at Polkerris beach and Par Sands, and within a half hour drive there is Carlyon Bay, Charlestown, Porthpean, Pentewan and Mevagissey.

There are many thousands of miles of fantastic walks in Cornwall. The South West Coastal Path alone winds 630 miles around the county, and The Saints Way is 27 miles from Fowey on the south coast, right across to Padstow on the north coast. The Fowey Hall Walk is much more manageable at 4 miles! Whether you enjoy the sea, woods, rivers, moors or fields, you will not be disappointed with the walks in Cornwall.

The closest major attractions are The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens Of Heligan. They really do have something for everyone and make a most enjoyable day out for children and adults.

For the green-fingered travellers, there are also many other great gardens - in fact, there are 12 Great Gardens of Cornwall!

If you’re looking for somewhere just for the kids, check out Camel Creek, Springfields, Dairyland, Kidzworld at Cornucopia, Indoor Active, Newquay Zoo or Porfell Wildlife Centre. A small list of the many hundreds of places for families to visit!

Cornwall also has many wonderful National Trust and English Heritage sites.

There are three long stay car parks in Fowey, all run by Cornwall Council - you can get weekly and rover passes on their website or purchase tickets on arrival.

There is also a free car park opposite squire’s field on Park Road. There are no allocated spaces and can fill up quickly during the summer weeks.

The nearest train is Par Station, which has direct services from London Paddington and beyond. It's then a 10 minute taxi trip into Fowey.

The main bus stop in Fowey can be found outside the Safe Harbour pub, and the 24 & 25 First Kernow services stop here. There is also a fabulous bus stop at the end of Lankelly Lane, which has had a make-over by the people of Fowey to give a real enjoyable space while waiting for the bus.

Fowey also has its own town bus service which picks up from outside the church and runs to the car parks and some other destinations on request.

The closest airport is Newquay, which is around 30 minute away by car.

We try to be as pet friendly as possible. We ask you contact us first when travelling with furry friends to let us know breed and size (please note, we charge a flat rate of £30 per trip for doggies).

We are always able to offer short breaks between October and March. If you’re looking for a last minute getaway at other times of the year, drop us a message and we’ll see what we can do for you!

We have a KeySafe at the property to make check in & out easy and convenient for you.

About Fowey Homes Ltd

My name is Jane Flowerdew, I am a local Estate Agent based in Fowey and manage a number of holiday properties on behalf of clients. Mrs W purchased Foye Landing in 2016, it was a former guest house and she has turned the building into a spectacular multi purpose dwelling as the property can be rented as a whole or split into three creating unique smaller residences.

Fowey Homes Ltd purchased this house in 2016

Why Fowey Homes Ltd chose Fowey

My client fell in love with Fowey and all that it has to offer.

What makes this house unique

Versatile Accommodation - River Views - Close to Public Parking - Short Stroll into Town

Guestbook comments from the owner

Fabulous really well appointed apartment with everything you need. The pool is lovely and the gardens beautiful! You need a car to drive down to the port because the walk up from the shops and restaurants is so steep and severe that the final walk back to the house would be too much. There is a super dog friendly beach at Par which was our favourite. Check in and out was very easy and both child and dog friendly. A super find and great if you are exploring the area as we were.

The house is a lovely large residence and catered easily for the 9 of us with a baby and dog too. We were 3 generations: grandmother, two sons and wife/partner and a daughter and 3 grandchildren, one baby and one dog. We used all the available beds without forgoing any of our own privacy. The 3 children all slept in the kid's room, whilst all the adults had bedrooms for themselves. The house was beautifully decorated, very clean and tidy and a cornish cream tea waited for us on arrival with some bubbly to wash it down. What made it even more special was a large beautiful Christmas tree in the living room area and lots of other christmas decorations around to make it feel really festive. Whilst we only stayed 3 nights, we were really comfortable and warm. There was nearly every convenience we could require although my coffee loving son could only find a cafetiere and not a coffee maker. We had brought logs with us to use in the log burner and that made the evenings so cosy. There were ample dvds for the children and some games but we had brought down our own as well. Although the weather was not ideal, mostly rain and wind, we made the most of our time. The only draw back is the lack of private parking facilities but with a public car park opposite and others around the town, it was not a major problem. We loved the town itself with its narrow winding streets and many independent little shops but could well imagine that in the height of the holiday season, it would be very busy and frustrating getting anywhere quickly. We catered for ourselves so cannot comment on any of the pubs or restaurants locally, but there is a little convenience store in the centre of town and large supermarkets close by in St Austell. Altogether, we thoroughly enjoyed out stay and would highly recommend it. We will be saving up to come again.

Joy at Foye

  • 5 of 5

We rented the entire house at Foye Landing with friends for half term and we were blown away by this property. It was perfect. It has been beautifully restored and comes equipped with everything you could possibly need for an enjoyable and relaxing stay in Fowey. We were delighted to discover UpTop and BelAir. It was perfect for two families. There are lovely little touches all around the property. It is also in a great location. Good parking, which can be a problem in Fowey, and just a stroll away from the centre of the town. Great for kids and ideal for adults. We will definitely be back.
