About Veronica Flockhart

Living and working in the garden in this beautiful setting of our home gives us the most enjoyment. As well as that I love cooking, sailing, walking the dog, theatre and shows, jazz music, spending time with the family, and when away exploring the Scottish Highlands in our motor home. Being born and bread in Sussex I have a wide circle of friends to spend our time with when not working!!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Veronica was a fantastic host and made us feel very welcome in to her lovely Garden Cottage. Her directions and communication upon our late night arrival were so helpful. The cottage was extremely well equipped and, Veronica was also very generous and added some extra home comforts which made our 5 day stay very relaxing. We would highly recommend to anyone wanting to stay here on a short term or long term basis, we will most certainly be telling our friends back in Australia about it!

House was really comfortable – we had no car and were spoiled for great walks right from the door of the cottage. Definitely recommended

Lovely country cottage in Midhurst

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovely cottage in a country location down a little lane near Midhurst - very charming. Everything you need is there, and Veronica, the owner, was very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed it and would defInitely stay there again.

Garden Cottage is charming and comfortable in a delightful, rural setting.

  • 5 of 5

Our three day stay was restful, peaceful and relaxing, just what we were looking for. The facilities are of a high standard and many basic, but essential, items were already waiting for us in the cupboards and drawers, including very useful maps and guides for the area. Veronica also provided so many delightful extra touches and she was a perfect host. If you want a rural retreat for a base, Garden Cottage could not be better.

Cosy yet spacious property in great location.

  • 5 of 5

We booked this cottage as a last minute weekend away and had a great time. It's in a lovely location. Ideal for taking in the south downs with great local walks and close to shops and plenty of pubs. Also not far to drive to the coast.

The cottage it's self was well decorated and maintained. It had lots of info and maps to assist with exploring the local area. They also provided milk and all the basic amenities such as tea and coffee.

I would definitely stay here again.

Very comfy cottage in peaceful location

  • 5 of 5

Ideal location, in very easy reach of Midhurst yet totally quiet; views over the fields of sheep + cattle, foxes, buzzards and pheasants.

Cottage well equipped, compact but very comfortable, warm and clean. Had a lovely few days there.

Perfect location in complete privacy surrounded by beauty

  • 5 of 5

We had SUCH a fabulous two weeks in Veronica's gorgeous cottage. It is exactly as shown in the photos and is very close to Midhurst, which is a picturesque old village with a lovely atmosphere, easy parking and two good supermarkets. There is so much to see in this area that two weeks was only just enough for us. If you love exquisite gardens, castles, historical mansions, walking in beautiful woods (within 200 metres of your doorstep) you will love it here. Veronica is the perfect host - available if you need anything and always ready to give you sight-seeing advice, but very respectful of your privacy so the cottage feels like your own. All you hear during the day are the sheep baa'ing and at night the owls hooting. Absolutely fabulous!
