About the property

Set in the picturesque village of New Galloway - perfect for a bit of comfort to return to after a day out walking or a long night of stargazing, this amazingly bright three bedroom apartment, sleeping 6, is set out over 3 floors and has huge windows to take in the spectacular views of the surrounding areas. The cottage has been recently renovated and stylishly kitted out to include three double bedrooms with crisp white bed linen, a shared luxury bathroom with Jacuzzi bath and walk in shower, plus second toilet, fully fitted kitchen with dining area and lounge with wood-burning stove, fibre optic wi-fi and a flat screen tv for chilling after long days in the beautiful wilds of Dumfries and Galloway. The place is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids) and furry friends (pets) - and can be let in conjunction with its downstairs neighbour, 1 Kenmure Court (see separate listing) to accommodate groups of up to 12. Bright and airy, this is a fantastic space to relax and take in the atmosphere.

Guests have access to the entire apartment, plus small flagstoned outside area shared with sister property, 1 Kenmure Court.

New Galloway is a beautiful village located in scenic Dumfries and Galloway near Loch Ken. Located on the Galloway Kite Trail - where red kites can be spotted throughout the year - the area has a huge variety of activities on tap: fishing, walking, cycling, biking, water-sports, horse-riding and much more, as well as of course the UKs first Dark Sky Park in nearby Galloway Forest. The village itself has a couple of pubs, a number of cafes and the 'cultural hub of the Glenkins', the CatStrand, venue for a wide variety of music, arts and other events. And not to be missed, each August, the village hosts the Scottish Alternative Games. If not already driving, we suggest you hire a car to venture around and experience the beautiful scenery.

Tastefully renovated, warming and very relaxing

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in New Galloway to visit friends nearby. We were very impressed with this accommodation. It is spacious, welcoming, very clean and has been renovated to a high spec. The wood burning stove was a real treat after a long day walking or mountain biking as was the luxury bath. The place was very well stocked but it was also good to have a pub and a lovely café on the doorstep after spending a day at the activity centre which will keep kids of all ages happy. The owner was very helpful with directions and had made arrangements for us to pick up the key. My friends who live nearby loved it and we would recommend it as a great place to stay.

Very picky minor improvements would be a hair dryer and larger luxury bath towels. the kids liked the cosy blankets in the living room
