About Janet and Keith Middleton

Keith and Janet Middleton live in the nearby village of Porlock. Keith has lived in Porlock all his life and is often to be spotted in the area in his driving school car. Janet moved to the area 20 years ago and owns two businesses in Porlock - a café in the village and a gallery with café in Porlock Weir.

Janet and Keith Middleton purchased this cottage in 2015

Why Janet and Keith Middleton chose West Somerset

Although the cottage was in need of a substantial makeover when we purchased it, its potential was immediately apparent. We have made some quite major changes to it, but have always tried to maintain its very special character and charm.

Great cottage, like a second home.

  • 5 of 5

Had a great week, the welcoming is first class (home made cake to die for, bread/milk etc and doggy treats too). The cottage is really well decorated and is in a great location in the town (central). Parking a bit tricky but to be fair second half of week, never really moved it as we explored the castle gardens/walks in the woods and walked from Dunster to Minehead along beach. Would recommend cottage to anyone and I thought it was great value for money. Pubs in village are all nice and is great place for a week with dogs (everywhere seems to allow dogs in). Recommend visit to lynton/lynmouth for anyone who as not been to area.

Beautiful cottage

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful little cozy cottage in the middle of the village.

The owner had even left us a wonderful lemon cake for our arrival.

I hope to be able to book this cottage again in the near future.

Hidden gem

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely time in Dunster. Such a pretty village. Floral Cottage is centrally located and has everything you need. Road parking wasn't a problem even though it was a busy weekend with cycling event. Once parked we didn't need to use the car as the village attractions, pubs shops and restaurants are all in easy walking distance. Thoroughly recommend. We are already looking to book for next year.

A smashing little cottage with everything you need on a self catering holiday.

  • 5 of 5

The cottage along with it's location was ideal for that relaxing break. The added extras like bread and milk being brought in ready for your stay was a nice touch and much appreciated. The cottage was clean and had plenty of space for the four of us and our dogs. The location great for walkers as it's close to many foot paths and trails.

Absolutely Marvelous

  • 5 of 5

We all loved our little house in Dunster. Everything was perfect when we got there and we loved all the special welcome touches. We miscalculated our day to leave and Janet was so gracious. She packed all our things for us and called us when they were ready to pick up. We drove back from Bath, picked up our things, and the next tenants were ready to come in. When do you ever get such wonderful service when you are at fault. She was so sweet to us.
