About Janet and Keith Middleton

Keith and Janet Middleton live in the nearby village of Porlock. Keith has lived in Porlock all his life and is often to be spotted in the area in his driving school car. Janet moved to the area 20 years ago and owns two businesses in Porlock - a café in the village and a gallery with café in Porlock Weir.

Janet and Keith Middleton purchased this cottage in 2015

Why Janet and Keith Middleton chose Dunster

Although the cottage was in need of a substantial makeover when we purchased it, its potential was immediately apparent. We have made some quite major changes to it, but have always tried to maintain its very special character and charm.

Another perfect stay!

  • 5 of 5

Our second visit to this lovely cottage, this time we were able to enjoy sitting outside in the shared garden in the glorious sunshine and a glass of wine on the patio of the cottage. We did a lovely walk to Carhampton and blue anchor beach which was about six miles return. Also walked through the forest and moors to Tivington, beautiful views.

We enjoyed a fabulous meal at Hathaways in Dunster and lunch at Chapel house cafe. It was lovely to meet the owner Janet at her cafe and gallery at Porlock Weir .I left my walking pole at the cafe and her husband kindly returned it to the cottage for me. The cottage had everything we needed and the lemon drizzle cake was divine.

Can't wait to return.

Medieval village up to date cottage we had a lovely stay in floral cottage

  • 4 of 5

We had a lovely time at floral cottage in Dunster.Good communication with the owner both before and after our stay. The cottage was immaculate and the ‘welcome pack’ exceeded all expectations. The cottage was warm and comfortable, unfortunately for those who like to eat in the number of saucepans was not adequate and a couple of Pyrex casserole dishes would have been very welcome

Having said that I would highly recommend Floral Cottage and the professionalism of Janet and Keith. Thank You both

Lovely cottage in a great location

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely time staying at Janet's cottage in Dunster. The village is beautiful with great restaurants and pubs. We took our dog with us and the cottage had great information for numerous walking routes. There is so much to explore and we cannot wait to return.

The cottage is very cosy and spotless, There is a small seating area out the back which is secure if you are taking pets. There was a home cooked cake, fresh flowers, bread and milk on arrival.

Even better than the photos and description!

Very well situated cottage in the heart of Dunster. Quiet, comfortable, we parked outside no problems, and lots of information on walks etc. The welcome pack and quality of the bed linen stood out for us, as did the underfloor heating! We will return!

This was an amazing find. The cottage is perfect and the owners really have thought of everything - right down to bread and milk, and fantastic cake.

The cottage has everything that you could possibly need and Dunster is a lovely place to stay. There was a large welcome pack detailing a wide range of activities.

We only have positives about our stay and can’t recommend this cottage highly enough! We would love to visit again.
