La Casa Trasparente is a residence of 6 apartments of which 2 master and 4 tourist, holiday homes complete with every comfort. Made with the style and elegance of those employers, tourist apartments, all on the ground floor have direct access to the garden. The furniture consists of antique and modern furniture. Three tourist apartments are connected to each other, creating a single apartment, "il Trifoglio" of about 173 square meters. which can accommodate 15 people.

About MARIA LUISA SALA

I, Marialuisa, have lived in this house since 1974. Before 'La Casa Trasparente' was built, I used to live in Vicenza, in the center of the city. Then I decided - together with my husband - to buy a plot, on the hills of Vicenza, on which we could build the house that we desired: a house in the wild, that allowed us, from the inside, to enjoy the beautiful landscape of the Berici Hills. Thus, the idea of replacing some walls with big glass walls that could make the locations brighter.

That's the place where we built our 'nest' and where our daughters - Marta, Elisabetta and Lucia - have grown up. Over the years they followed their partners and the house has became too big for us two. That's why we transformed a part of the house in touristic apartments, by giving every apartment the style and the comfort of the master house.

Why MARIA LUISA SALA chose Arcugnano

We bought the plot on the hills of Vicenza because we wanted to live in a quiet and green place that was, however, near to the city.

Vicenza is reachable in 6 minutes and his historic center in 15. For us, living here has been - and it is, now - important because we'd been able to raise our daughter like we wanted to, that is in very close contact with nature and far from air pollution. By living on the hills and having a big park at our disposal, it's been possible to have animals. The hills offer delightful landscapes, but also meaningful human contact on the social side; the local elderlies are considered, to this day, the 'wisemen' and are consulted and very well respected.

What makes this apartment unique

La Casa Trasparente has been built by us in 1974, and it's been published, in 1980, on 'Casa Vogue' (an italian magazine about houses and fashion) for his originality and his rational internal setting.

Since we wanted to fully enjoy the hill panorama and the luxuriant vegetation, we characterized it with big glass walls; thus, the name 'La Casa Trasparente' (translation: 'The Transparent House'). The park is rich of kids plays that, being in a livable environment, allow them to play serenely letting space for the adults to rest. A big terrace, furnished with tables and benches, allows the hosts to eat out of doors, a few steps away from the apartment.

The energy is produced locally with photovoltaic panels and the hot water with solar panels.
