About Wendy Rust

I'm a cheerful, energetic person who enjoys exploring new places and meeting new friends. Whether by boot, boat or bike; I am always looking for new routes and views. My husband is an geologist with intimate knowledge of the natural world and we are both happiest when cycling, surfing or sailing. Together we have raised our children in this beautiful home and now enjoy sharing it with others whilst we visit other parts of the world.

Wendy Rust purchased this cottage in 1996

Why Wendy Rust chose Brook

This property is uniquely situated on the south coast of the west Wight, the most beautiful and unpopulated part of the Island. Here you have unobstructed south facing sea views and limitless access to numerous cliff walks and downland paths. The official Island cycle route runs past the lane and special sailing and cycling events can be enjoyed from the back garden. The local footpath leads to Brook Bay, a quiet sandy beach noted for its excellent kite surfing, and onto Compton Bay, arguably the best surfing beach on the Island.

What makes this cottage unique

This house is an absolute gem. Its old stone walls and warm terracotta tiles have inspired feelings of security and adventure for all of the friends and family members who have had the pleasure of staying in it. Whether star-gazing, beach-combing or sun-lounging, visitors simply will not find a more satisfying Island location for their holiday.

Cosy and comfy

  • 5 of 5

I'm delighted to say that we enjoyed our stay and the quiet location, wildlife around us, comfy rooms, small garden.

Kitchen was well equipped, house warm, fireplace welcome.

Island was just what we wanted for a relaxing half term family break.
