The apartment is located in the historic center of Palermo; a few minutes walk are the nineteenth-century parks of Villa Giulia and Orto Botanico, the promenade of the Foro Italico with the Navy and the Cala, the historic churches of the Mansion, the Kalsa and Sant'Anna. From the window you can enjoy the view of the Palace Aiutamicristo and the Genie fountain in Piazza Revolution. The apartment is extremely bright, on two levels (each with bedroom and bathroom) over the terrace which offers a sensational view over the whole city and the mountains of the Conca d'Oro; the feeling for the guests will be living in an old aristocratic Sicilian palace with the convenience of easily reach all places of interest. The apartment is easily reached from both the harbor, central station, airport and highway and close to bus stops, metro and car sharing. Secure parking h24 (surcharge) opposite the apartment. The accommodation is suitable for couples, families and business travelers.
We had a brilliant time at this lovely apartment. Claudia and Fulvio were great hosts, organising airport transfers and providing a lovely welcome assortment of food and drinks. We were able to drop our bags off early, go and have lunch and then go back to meet Fulvio who was absolutely charming and speaks good English.
The apartment is spacious, light and airy with a fabulous roof terrace for al fresco dining or simply relaxing. The bedrooms are huge and the whole apartment is very wel equipped. There are a lot of stairs, and no lift, but this is compensated for by the views from the terrace. It can be a bit noisy at times but it wasn't an issue for me - it added to the whole city living experience.
There was a good range of places to eat and drink within a few minutes walk, and there is a Lidl supermarket nearby.
Palermo is a fascinating mix of cultures with fabulous old buildings round every corner and a lot of history. Top tip: buy the 36 hour tourist bus ticket, use it to get to know the city and then go to see the beautiful cathedral at Monreale
I would recommend this apartment to couples or friends who appreciate being in the thick of things to get the real feel of a place. Palermo is a beautiful city and I'm sure we still have lots to see - if I came back, I would definitely stay at La Rosa again.
Thank you Claudia and Fulvio for sharing your beautiful apartment with us and for being such great hosts. Ciao
This was our second visit to Sicily but our first visit to Palermo. We had a great time staying in Attico de la Rosa. Great location and so much to see and do. Take your time and wander around the city and get to know the place. Speak to the locals, even if you only know one or two words of Italian, we found them so friendly. The only down side was we were only there for one week.
The description and pictures on the website are a true reflection. We must thank Fulvio and Claudia for their level of service - from our initial approach regarding availability and once booked through the period before we arrived they were very quick to answer any queries. They were also available during our time in Palermo, if any assistance was needed, with suggestions of places to visit.
I'd like to think, at some point, there'll be a third visit to Sicily and we'd love to return to Attico de la Rosa.
grazie
