About the property

Two Bedroom Apartment, Sleeps 4

Chapel Watch has a lovely homely feel with quality solid furniture, Seb West artwork, super fluffy towels and comfortable beds which you simply have to nest down into. The master bedroom has a double bed, built in wardrobes with plenty of storage and hanging space and a TV. Across the hallway is the shower room with large wash basin and shower and then there is the second bedroom which has two single beds. With integrated appliances such as dishwasher, washer/ dryer, fridge/ freezer and cooker the kitchen is neatly laid out to make food preparation simple and quick to clear away. Look through the kitchen window and take in the framed view of the Island and its perfect little Chapel and sea beyond. In the living area, there is a comfortable two seater sofa and two tub chairs which are light enough to be moved around easily to suit plus a large TV with DVD player for those relaxing evenings when staying in is the preferred option. For meals in, there is a small dining table with four stools that neatly sit under the table when not in use.

There is private parking on Beach Road (a 10 minute walk from the apartment) and free WiFi. If you are coming on holiday as two families or sets of friends, Chapel Watch is on the top floor of the Rockcliff Court building and Island Retreat (also on Orange Roofs’ website) is a duplex apartment on the ground and first floor which sleeps 6.

One small very well-behaved and house trained dog (preferably non-shedding) is welcome at Chapel Watch. Please observe the house rules in our booking terms and conditions.

Please note that Chapel Watch is on the top floor of a building. It has a flight of outside steps and then another internal flight before reaching the apartment which is all on one level.

simply excellent

A perfectly positioned property with everything that St Ives has to offer just a stroll away, maintained to a very high standard and with all the equipment that you will ever need.

It even has a lovely view of the church and island (perfect for people watching!) plus a VITAL parking space nearby. What more could anybody ask for when renting a property!!!!!!.

A charming little place in a great location.

  • 4 of 5

Overall, we had a lovely stay at Chapel Watch. The prosecco and chocolate was gratefully received on our arrival. The apartment was warm, cosy, and nicely decorated. We loved the location, very near the beach and close to a couple of charming little cafes and art galleries. In the property we had all that we needed in the kitchen and bedroom areas, and we had a good amount of storage space. The welcome booklet was useful, although we personally felt that we would have benefited from some additional information relating to some nice restaurants and cafes to visit in the area. The apartment was a little dusty in the bedroom areas. Parking is a challenge in St Ives, so we were very grateful for the designated private parking space! We will definitely be returning , although, being a young family with twins, we will most likely search for a larger property that can comfortably hold two travel cots and two high chairs. Thank you for a pleasant stay.

The property was just perfect, from going in we loved been there

  • 5 of 5

Chapel Watch was a perfect holiday retreat, it was spotlessly clean and was stocked with everything you needed to to make it a home from home, definitely a great deal of thought and effort gone into making your stay very comfortable.

The parking arrangement we had was great, a little walk away but we enjoyed the walk, seeing something different every time, making another interesting aspect to our stay.

The location of Chapel Watch, for us could not have been better, close to the Island so walking our dog Boni was so easy and allowed for some fantastic sunrise photos, for early birds! and on the first day the sight of seals swimming off the rocks obviously made the day very special.

Maybe the WiFi connection was a little wobbly át times but certainly didn't spoil any of the great experience we enjoyed at Capel Watch and St Ives.

A very happy Rich and Suzanne.

small but fantastic location

  • 3 of 5

The property is absolutely immaculate, and well-stocked with towels, clean linen and various kitchen essentials and Orange Roofs are very friendly and easy to deal with. The property is in a perfect location and comes with a parking space 5 mins walk away, which was invaluable. Unfortunately we found the double bed small and very uncomfortable and the whole property is extremely compact, including the sofa, which is very small for full-grown adults (6'2" and 5'9") to relax on. The bathroom was also tiny. We hadn't realised quite how tight for space everything was from the photos.

Perfectly placed near harbour, town centre, beachs

  • 5 of 5

I came here with my wife for a getaway from it all holiday. Chapel Watch didn't disappoint! It's peaceful but the harbour, beaches, restaurants and shops are all within a few minutes walk. The apartment is comfortable, very clean and warm. The view from the kitchen window is lovely looking out onto the Island church and the sea. We will definitely be back!

Excellent base for beach bums!

  • 5 of 5

We know St Ives well after holidaying there for several years. I was keen to find somewhere close to the beach without a steep hill climb because I'm a lazy arse.

This apartment is superb. It's location is wonderful. Literally a minute to the island end of Porthmeor beach or a just few mins longer if you prefer the other end nearer the cafe/toilets.

It's also minutes away (in the other direction) from the harbour area with all the shops and restaurants.

The apartment itself is quite cosy but we (2 adults, 2 teens) didn't feel cramped at all. The cooker, washer/drier, shower, dish washer all excellent & work perfectly. Actually the best washer/drier I've ever used!

There is a handy tray on small landing outside apartment door for Bodyboards which we found very useful.

The parking is at the far end of Porthmeor beach, up Beach road. It's no prob to unload on arrival at apartment as there is space to park temporarily and then a short drive along the front & up the hill to parking the space. It's a lovely easy 10 min stroll (a slight hill which even I can cope with 😜) to the parking space and we found it no prob for car not to be right outside the apartment. (We could actually see the car from the beach 😂👍🏼) The apartment is right beside the Island Carpark but there were never any spaces and always a queue in our observations.

This was the best apartment we've ever stayed in, mostly because of the location. Not having a mountaineering style slog up a hill with all the beach paraphernalia at the end of the day really made it for me. But like I said I'm a lazy arse.

I really hope to be back.

The communications and info from Orangeroofs was always excellent. They genuinely want you to have the best time. And we did!! Thankyou.
