2 bedrooms, very quiet location close to nature

**Newly refurbished**

Our beautiful cottage was completely refurbished in May 2016 and features brand new walls, floors, bathroom suite and kitchen.

Downstairs there is an open-plan kitchen/diner and living room. The kitchen is kitted out with fridge, washing machine and hob/oven (please note, there is no microwave). There will be basic amenities available on arrival and guests are welcome to use any spices, herbs, oils and condiments. The antique dining table allows for 6 people (2 spare chairs are available upstairs) and there is a large flat-screen TV (please note, it is only hooked up to receive English channels, not French) and 2 comfortable sofas in the living room. There is reliable, fast Wi-Fi available at no extra charge.

Upstairs, the master bedroom is light and airy with a comfortable king-size bed and exceptional views up to the top of the valley. The second bedroom has a double bed with memory foam mattress and a wardrobe. We can provide a travel cot for infants if required.

The bathroom features a new suite with powerful rainfall and handheld shower heads.

Outside there is a small table and chairs - perfect for enjoying a quiet cup of coffee in the morning - and a beautiful communal garden less than a minute's walk from the property.

Feneyrols oasis of calm

  • 5 of 5

looking for a brief stay in the Aveyron/Tarn region we booked 2 nights at this cottage and what an absolute gem it is. Just minutes outside of St Antonin Noble Val, Feneyrols is a small village with some stunning riverside walks. The cottage itself was easily located and backed up with exacting directions from Shanice with whom communication was very good. The spacious shared living room, kitchen and diner was full of period charm. The heating had been thoughtfully switched on, particularly welcome on a rather wet miserable day. Even more welcoming was the bottle of wine which had been left for us and which we enjoyed with our evening meal. The stairs to the first floor bedrooms and bathroom is a rather narrow and steep affair which may not suit people with mobility difficulties. There is a small but perfectly adequate bathroom with shower, toilet and hand basin. The bedrooms were roomy and certainly the bed in the master room was large and comfy. Internet connection was excellent and although there was a skybox and TV there didn't seem to be any satellite connectivity which meant TV was unavailable. I should add that it may just have been down to my inability to adequately operate the system but in any event we never felt disadvantaged. For those that wish to cook , as we did, there is an excellent oven and hob, fridge freezer, toaster and kettle. No microwave but again its something we didn't miss. There is a large Carrefour with petrol station 10 minutes away, just off the side of the main road, back toward and just past the turn in to St Antonin NV and which had a large selection of vegetarian fare.

It was only 2 days but we loved the venue and we will undoubtedly come back and use it again. The only criticism I could make is the level of lighting is a little low in the bathroom which made accurate shaving rather on the tricky side.

Very impressed - loved our stay!

  • 5 of 5

We came to the St Antonin area for a 2-week rock-climbing holiday and were so glad we found this pretty little cottage in Feneyrols to stay in. It was lovely to find bread, cheese, wine and some other goodies in the fridge on our arrival. The downstairs living/dining area is spacious and comfortable and the kitchen area is very well-equipped with everything you need and more! We slept like logs in the very comfy bed and appreciated the quality bed linen and towels. Everything was very clean and tidy and the shower was very powerful (and hot!!) Good wifi. It turned quite chilly the last couple of evenings of our stay, but the room heaters ensured we kept cosy. Feneyrols itself is a picturesque, sleepy little village, but you can get everything you need 5 mins (by car) down the road in St Antonin. All in all a great base from which to explore this beautiful area - great for climbing ,cycling ,walking, canoeing down the river (in summer), etc etc. We'll be back!

Car: recommended

Féneyrols is a serene little village with a small and very friendly community. The village is surrounded by beautiful countryside perfect for bike rides and hikes. The river L'Aveyron, which runs through Féneyrols, is calm, safe and ideal for swimming, kayaking, fishing and boating in the summer months.

We recommend hiring a car if you wish to get around and see the beautiful towns and villages all within an hour's drive of Féneyrols. Some places we love include Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val (10min), Cordes-sur-Ciel (25min), Najac (30min) and Albi (50min). A bike is a great way to get around locally - we have 2 available for guests to use.
