Overview

About the property

Family Friendly, Walking & Cycling Routes, Hot Tub, Perfect Country Retreat

The cottage is dated approximately 1876 and retains many original features such as an Inglenook fireplace, exposed beams and flag stone flooring and some low ceilings. It is set back from the country lane and hosts stunning views of the Polden Hills. There is ample parking at the front of the property and a 2 acre field at the rear all of which is fully enclosed. Downstairs has an open plan kitchen and dining room which leads out onto the patio. The well equipped kitchen has an electric double range cooker and hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, and a Bose speaker. There is a large lounge with inglenook fireplace, wood burner, 55 inch smart television with youview, wifi, cd player, games and books. Also downstairs is a utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer and a WC.

Upstairs the master bedroom has a vaulted ceiling, with exposed beams, super kingsize bed, 32 inch television, ensuite with bath and separate shower & a dressing room. There are two further double bedrooms, one single bedroom, one twin room and a family bathroom with bath and separate shower.

Outside the large patio is perfect for dining on a summers evening with seating for up to 10 people. There is a charcoal BBQ and a fire pit to keep you warm on cooler evenings. There are cushions and sun chairs available and a four poster double sun lounger. The cottage itself has lots of space and provides maximum comfort. It is a perfect location for nature lovers who enjoy walking or cycling with wonderful scenery. A perfect getaway, peaceful, stunning scenery, family friendly, close to a variety of tourist attractions.

Tranquil position with a high level of privacy for families or couples. As we are set in a rural location with several working farms we often have cows and sheep as neighbours.

We do ask that all of our guests are respectful of our neighbours and rural community. Therefore we do not permit loud music or parties.

*Please Note: The Jacuzzi Hot Tub will be available between the hours of 8am to 11pm, this is due to the tranquil location.

Please note the cottage sleeps a maximum of 10 guests only including children.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We had a wonderful week in Somerset made the more enjoyable by staying at Longpath Cottage. The house was warm, comfortable and spacious, it was extremely well equipped and we were able to relax and enjoy all of the delights of Somerset. I and my family loved it. Cathy

A beautiful rural cottage, lots of space, fabulous hot tub and lots of attention to detail.

  • 5 of 5

This is the second time that we have stayed in Longpath Cottage with friends. We had a fabulous time, Linda was there to greet us and was even helping to unpack our online shop! The cottage is beautifully furnished and was lovely and warm. We really enjoyed the new hot tub and the children had fun playing cricket and football in the huge garden. It is extremely likely that we will visit again. Many thanks to Linda for making our stay so enjoyable.

Lovely Somerset Cottage

  • 5 of 5

We (5 adults, 2 children) really enjoyed our stay. The house is incredibly comfortable and well-maintained. The kitchen is excellent, beds and bedding good quality, and the house and surrounding grounds offer plenty of space for playing and relaxing. The owners are also very easy to work with and communicative. My family loved it and can highly recommend it!

Fabulous cottage, great area

  • 5 of 5

Great cottage, very clean, lots of space, nicely sized kitchen for a large group, large garden and a lovely little wood burner in the lounge. We came for a gathering of two families, and visited Cheddar Gorge, Glastonbury Tor, drank local cider (from Hecks in Street), watched Strictly, carved pumpkins and even ran the Park Run at Turnham-on-Sea - all within easy reach!

Lovely cottage with great family rooms and an amazing back garden. We had 3 generations in our family and all really enjoyed our stay. Amazing to stay somewhere with such quality kitchen fittings and fixtures.

A lovely luxurious cottage!

  • 5 of 5

Very spacious and comfortable house. The house is perfect for a quiet family get away, with peaceful surroundings and great views. Close enough to the A39 to be accessible but far enough to 'get away from it all'.

Pro's: The biggest plus for us was the field at the back - this really made the holiday.

The inside had plenty of room and has been furnished to a very high standard.

The kitchen is very well equipped and Tesco deliver, which helped.

The owners were very friendly and helpful and obviously care for their guests.

Con's: none really! The Internet was a bit slow at times, but no more than you would expect in a rural location - we still watched Netflix without many pauses. There are some beams and doorways that might trouble 6ft plus people, but weren't particularly noticeable.

All in all a great holiday home which we wouldn't hesitate to recommend or visit again
