Escape 2, a tastefully decorated and furnished three bedroomed apartment, is situated within the idyllic Royal Westmoreland estate, on the Platinum Coast of Barbados. Escape 2 offers you the opportunity to relax in peace and comfort amid the luxury, privacy and high quality service you would expect from one of the most prestigious developments in the world.

The apartment comprises a level access approach, 2 balcony, and spectacular garden views towards the sea. The lounge is fully equipped with generous sofas and a chaise lounge. The home entertainment includes a large flat screen TV, with cable and Super Wi-Fi.

The fully equipped open plan kitchen (with breakfast bar) has an oven, combination microwave, dishwasher, large fridge freezer and integrated water/ice dispenser.

All three bedrooms are en suite. The master bedroom, with a large king size bed, looks out onto two balconies and features a shower enclosure and separate bath and dressing room.

The second bedroom has a large king size bed, ensuite shower room and looks out onto its own balcony.

The third bedroom has large twin beds and an ensuite bath and shower room.

Escape 2 is air conditioned with additional fans throughout.

Bathrooms are all equipped with hair dryers.

The utility room is equipped with a washing machine and tumble dryer.

About Alistair and Moira Keith

Both Moira and I originate from Scotland but have lived a great part of our lives in East Sussex, England. During that time, we have enjoyed coming to Barbados for over 20 years with family and friends. One of the attractions was the all year round good climate, which enabled us to come over at any time of the year.

We have stayed in a number of locations in Barbados over the years but just recently settled for our apartment in Royal Westmoreland.

It gives us all the best aspects of Barbados, together with the great lifestyle that can be found on the resort. The new property allows each of us to indulge in our different interests: mine being golf (albeit not as a great golfer, but as someone who for years has loved every aspect of the game); whereas Moira, on the other hand, is more creative, enjoying art, music and various other interests.

So we believe we have found the ideal location to share with our family, friends and clients.

What makes this apartment unique

A stay at Escape 2 will provide you with full guest privileges. This means access to one of the most beautiful and challenging par 72, 7,045-yard championship golf courses in the world. You will enjoy full access to the course and its abundance of facilities at any time (with reduced "members' guest fees" added into the bargain), as well as membership to the private Beach Club at Mullins Bay (with free loungers, shades and beach towels). The spa offers beauty treatments including wraps, facials, comprehensive therapies and messages and a peaceful outdoor pool, while the gym is equipped with state-of-the art cardio equipment. Personal training sessions can be booked, and there's a naturally heated pool and jacuzzi for you to wind down in after your work out. Sand-based floodlit astro turf tennis courts are open daily for you to enjoy and improve your game.

Jet skis and kayaks are available for hire all along Mullins beach. Mullins Bar & Grill was one of the first genuine beach bars on the west coast of Barbados and offers simple, delicious and reasonably priced local cuisine with no reservations necessary. The cocktail list is as impressive as you would hope it to be, and the bar hosts regular music nights, barbecues and sporting events on the 60 inch flat screen TVs. The regular complimentary shuttle service to Mullins Beach ensures you'll arrive - and return - with the minimum of effort. Alternatively and for a true taste of Barbados, you can visit The Rum Shak, a lively and informal venue offering a barbecue every Saturday night and possibly the best vintage point to admire the glorious sunsets.

Good value for golfers!

This is a very nice property with plenty of room for 5 - 6 people. The House Manager and Maid met us at the apartment, and we were able to occupy immediately after leaving our cruise ship in the morning. Discounted golf at the very nice Royal Westmoreland was a bonus, as was the spacious pool that is only a 2-minute walk away. There is a convenient shuttle to the beach club, a 5+ minutes drive away. Maid service was 4x during the week and keep the place in nice shape.

A couple of items that would add even greater value: add a barbecue grill on the roomy balcony; provide a detailed map of the Royal Westmoreland property; clarify precisely where you go to obtain your guest cards; mention the possibility of renting a golf cart for getting around RW during your stay.

Home away from home - Perfect Stay

We stayed in the apartment for two weeks over Christmas. The hosts did everything to make sure our arrival was smooth and easy. The apartment itself was immaculately clean and had everything, they very kindly had the fridge prepared with ice cold water and beers upon arrival. Their was WiFi throughout the apartment and the rooms were all spacious and airy. Thank you for a perfect stay we will defiantly be booking again next year.

Rest and relaxation in a beautiful and extremely comfortable apartment

We have stayed at Westmoreland previously and just loved it. This time, having been let down on another property, we found Alistair and Moira's apartment and having had an opportunity to discuss our needs directly with them, had no doubt this beautiful apartment would suit our needs perfectly. Alistair and Moira are perfect hosts - answering all our questions directly and swiftly and helping us with transfer arrangements, car hire on the run-up to our holiday. If you are looking for peace and relaxation and a real home from home in terms of comfort, you can not really do much better.

The apartment is beautifully furnished, well equipped, spacious and contemporary. We were attentively looked after by Andrew, Karene and Michelle throughout the stay.

Those who know Westmoreland will already know that the facilities are first class, albeit, unless you self cater, you really need a car to get back and forth to the coast - Holetown and beyond - to enjoy the Barbadian welcome and cuisine to the maximum. For keen golfers, you have the opportunity to play perhaps one of the most beautiful courses in the world. If relaxing by a pool is more your scene, then the pool, just 2 minutes walk from the apartment was generally empty, even in high season.

Here's hoping we can return again in the not too distant future...

Fantastic Apartment in Great Location, Barbados

My family stayed at 221 Palmetto over Christmas/NewYears 2016/2017 and we had the most wonderful holiday as a result. The apartment is beautifully finished, with delightful decor and all mod cons. Each room is generous and with an ensuite, and our boys (13 and 11 years) just loved the setting - very close to the pool (a stone's throw) which was practically a private pool for us all week :-)

If you enjoy golf, beginner or pro, then you have access to one of the island's finest courses. The kids availed of the driving range almost every day, (and had the best fun on the golf buggies!) and the clubhouse is a great place to enjoy a rum punch and see the sunset.

The Sanctuary is a great facility for those days you want to lie by a different pool and enjoy bar refreshments and light bites.

We also took the Royal Westmoreland shuttle to Mullins Beach a few days; it picked us up in front of the apartment entrance, and brought us up and down to the private sun loungers on the beach for Royal Westmoreland guests.

The owners were so lovely to deal with, and ensured that everything ran so smoothly for our vacation. Thanks so much!

In short, we can't recommend this apartment more highly to enjoy a wonderful holiday in Barbados. It has it all = great apartment, great location, great facilities, beach and all in a secure and safe setting => superb holiday :-)

The location allows easy access to all the facilities and benefits of the Royal Westmoreland Resort, and easy access to all that Barbados has to offer.

Guests staying at Escape 2 benefit from full membership of Royal Westmoreland Golf Club. Full access to golf times available and no restrictions. Guests will also benefit from a Members Guest reduced green fee.

You can play tennis on the floodlit garden courts, or opt to relax with a choice of two pools. There's also a fully equipped gym and jacuzzi, and a chance for chill out time at the Rum Shak.

Go shopping in the Chattel Village Shops, or choose designer shopping in Lime Grove. Explore Harrison's Cave, St. Nicholas Abbey and the Wildlife Nature Reserve - to name just a few! Barbados abounds with activities all over the island: horse riding, polo, cricket, surfing, diving, fishing, sailing and so much more!
